Beard posting in this thread, especially going back 5 hours to respond for no particular reason, will be met with an insta-hide. Thanks.

Lol I don't even know how it went back that far.

I would be shocked if the name has not popped up in here at least once.....unless Dolson is bringing someone back from the dead....

not to nit-pick but "discussing" and "mentioned" are not the same thing.  I would almost guarantee that the next coach has been mentioned somewhere in this thread.

To quote someone..."its not 0%" likely we've talked about who ends up being hired

Just talked to my Bloomington lawyer and ask him if he had any inside information on our new coach. He said he had a friend who was a good friend of Dolson that usually gave him information but said he had been totally quiet on this search. I tried

gave up too easily

Alright this is the history teacher in me, but we are on page 1863.  It is one of my favorite years in American History.  That's the 3rd year of the American Civil War and the famous Battle of Gettysburg.  I am betting we hear about the next coach when we reach page 1944, which is my favorite year in history: WW2 and D-Day in Europe.  Let's go!

Meh, American History is so boring.  I have a preference to European History.  I am very partial to post Gutenberg Printing Press Europe, and the decline of the power the Roman Catholic Church held afterwards.  Or the French Revolution, Montesquieu, or Versailles during that time.  But if I had to pick an American History timeframe I would go with 1890s Imperialism, and the nationalism not only here but worldwide that led explicitly to the World Wars, modern Olympics, and expansionism.  Civil War is so played out for me.

Edit:  Most useless minor I have, but entertaining nonetheless.

I'm currently reading Lincoln vs Davis... enlightening read so far (I'm 500ish pages in)..read a chapter, check this thread, rinse/repeat...

Best debates in American political history, imo.

More Sunday than Saturday night. Lakers-Celtics ABC game of the week Saturday night. :-)

I’m still of the mindset that unless someone just has the story and runs with it, burn the boats and access, we won’t know until the team is eliminated. But Chris knows more than me.

Okay, I know nothing, but I’m going out on a limb here. Just read Bozich’s most recent column. I’ve been reading Bozich since he was with the Louisville Courier Journal way back in the 80s. I’ve found him to be discreet, trustworthy, and an IU guy—which means he is kind of a company guy like Don Fischer who has been able to cover IU through the years and not tick administration or Bobby Knight off back in the day. In said column,  He goes through all the names we’ve been discussing lately—(with no mention of BS). He gives all the positive and negatives of each—all well and good. Then he says he believes SD is gonna hire someone else, no one is talking about—not on the list he just gave. Okay, fine, some unknown guy? No—- he then describes this guy as a veteran coach looking for a new challenge to rebuild IU. Kent Sterling does a video and says the exact same thing. I know to take Bozich seriously and also know he is connected and values access and won’t cross the athletic department. In my mind, BS just went from a 1-2% likely to better than even odds. Here’s what I think. Reporters trusted by the AD know who the hire is—a small select number. And they’ve been asked to hold the story and just discuss other candidates until a set time—probably once senior day is done and the lights turned out in the Hall on Saturday. No more home games, no need to protect Woodson’s ego after that point. With the terrible risk of sounding like isaacTor, I guess—based on nothing but reading between the lines— that around 8 Saturday night Bozich and a handful of guys that are trusted in the AD will simultaneously start breaking stories about rumors of who this “veteran” coach is. I might be totally wrong, but I think “we got him.” Who else could this veteran guy be?

Mark Few.

I will say this thread has about had its shelf life it’s starting to be exhausting to try to keep up with , I’m ready to know the next coach already lol

It’ll get weirder before it gets sane.  Nowhere near a conclusion.  Take it all in like dropping acid from MKUltra with Bill Walton.
