Interesting that a possible need for change could lead to a fine marriage for both -- though I still think it's an extreme long shot. The part I don't like is waiting till June and if Stevens says no, proceeding with Archie for a fifth year.

I like Archie and until late in the season, I hadn't joined the "Fire Archie" clarion call. But at this point, bringing him back for another season under any circumstance is a recipe for disaster, in my opinion. I just think it's time to move on, period -- for both Archie and IU.

I think if the offer is right, I could see him making the move unless he wants to try and hold out for a Duke UNC move in a few years. I don’t think he will be a Texas Tech lifer.

I could see him staying in conference and ending up at Kansas

Can't say I like one thing about Gregg Doyle, but this is not an uplifting thing to read if you're CAM. I honestly feel bad for the guy. When it was "Crean's time", I didn't feel bad for him. He was a huge narcissist and had worn out his welcome. Our fan base booing players and turning aggressive in public is unattractive to students & parents.

We had a verbally and physically abusive coach for three decades and he had no problem getting recruits. Our fanbase won’t keep players away. We just need to win and they’ll come.

The timing is perfect for Brad Stevens to consider the job. Okay, not the exact month in March.

But the Celtics have tapped out on future potential for the foreseeable future. The Nets being great at basketball is good for Indiana Basketball. Maybe.

Gosh I hope Scott actually attempts to talk to Brad.

I suspect it would be relatively easy for Dolson to talk to Brad, but much harder to talk him into changing his mind re: NBA coaching

unless all the recent rancor and criticism by Celtic fans, and possible frustration of dealing with certain NBA players, has given Brad a new perspective on college-vs-pro coaching (and, yes, that would include the "horrors" of recruiting that nearly all college coaches dislike)

0-9.  CAM is 0-9 against them.  I don't feel bad for him one bit.  He hasn't won a single game against them.

Craig Smith was brought up a time or 2 and Casey Alexander has been vetted by all of us experts and I believe we decided it was too risky at this juncture. Mark Pope to me is interesting but he may be looking to stay in his particular geographical region.

not sure how I feel yet about Pope as a potential candidate, but I do suspect he's less "tied down" to Provo (or Utah in general) than a lot of folks assume

last time I looked, there were 3 LDS churches in Bloomington

Having young talent in the NBA is a great problem to have, but it doesn't always equal winning. The Celtics want world championships, not ECF appearances.

The Celtics have $0 money to spend this summer on attracting top free agents. They have aging stars and bad contracts in Kemba Walker.

The Celtics have been unable to attract top free agents ever since the Isiah Thomas incident. They landed Kemba Walker because they offered him a max contract at an old age.

The Celtics don't have draft assets, no bench players, and the east is slowly getting better. The Celtics have failed to make significant trades and frankly they have two assets that they don't want to trade.

Tatum or Brown will eventually want out.

The Celtics have peaked. Tatum and Brown will get better but the roster mathematically really can't get better for several years.

I keep hearing that Ainge "loves Brad" but I also get the impression that Ainge's job may be in as much or more jeopardy than Stevens' is

Brad hasn’t been to the finals with one of the most storied organizations in the NBA.

It’s been 9 years.

Change might be needed. Brad might be willing to leave. And yes, Danny could be in trouble. He’s probably one of the more overrated GM’s in the NBA.cos

Not to mention with the Nets loading up they aren’t getting there in the next 4 years at least.

Exactly. Celtics had to deal with LeBron and couldn’t do it. They wouldn’t beat the Nets either. It’s as perfect a time as we could hope. This is the one chance to get our Golden Boy

The Celtics have been to the Finals twice in the past 34 years lol. They’re one of the most storied organizations because of what they accomplished 50 years ago. Their banners are as dusty as ours.

Oh I know trust me. I’m a Lakers fan.

The Celtics got their rings when players were smoking pipes in the locker room post game and pre games.

Nonetheless, they have the standard of championships like IU does.

I don't have a dog in this fight but to be fair they have 17 championship (tied with the Lakers) and 31 division banners hanging and it started 64 years ago.  That franchise has celebrated opening season banner hanging ceremonies in every decade (minus the current) since 1957. And to add a little 'extra' to their accomplishments, with the Lakers it accounts for 34 championships for almost half of the 74 championships in NBA history.

They definitely have a great history, but they’ve only won one of those championships since 1986. If they fire Brad because he hasn’t made the finals I’m not sure it’d be the wisest decision. You’re probably not hiring an improvement and your roster’s problems will still be there. He’s done very well with what he’s had.

They won the ship in 2008.
