Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 Lady Hoosiers go on the road to battle #11 Kentucky. TV Radio Live Stats ABOUT THE WILDCATS Kentucky is 3-0 after winning its matchup in the Big 12/SEC Challenge at Kansas State on Thursday night. It marked the debut for national player of the year and All-American junior guard Rhyne Howard. Chasity Peterson leads the way with 17.0 points per game and a team-high 4.0 steals per game. Forward Dre'Una Edwards also adds double figures with 15.0 points and a team-high 9.3 rebounds per game. The Wildcats, who were picked to finish second in the SEC this season, are shooting 40.5 percent from the field through three games and averaging 72.0 points per contest. SERIES HISTORY Indiana leads 13-12 LAST MEETING 11/12/06 - W, 54-51 (Lexington, Ky.) NOTES Indiana is coming off a 71-26 win over Samford on Thursday night, marking the fewest point scored by an opponent in the Teri Moren era and fewest by an opponent since 2004. Four players scored in double figures behind 13 points each from junior guard Grace Berger and sophomore forward Mackenzie Holmes. Holmes leads the way through two games for IU on the offensive end, averaging 19.5 points per game. Guards Ali Patberg and Grace Berger also average double figures for the Hoosiers, each scoring 15.0 points per game. Sunday's matchup of border rivals is the first in 14 years, as the two teams last met in 2006 where Indiana defeated Kentucky 54-51 in Lexington. The two teams played regular series meetings in the 80's and 90's, as IU holds the slight edge, 13-12. Indiana has two Kentucky natives on the roster as it heads to Lexington on Sunday, with Louisville natives Berger (Sacred Heart) and senior guard Jaelynn Penn (Butler) each playing their first collegiate game in their home state. The duo each played part in the legendary high school Indiana vs. Kentucky All-Star games as respective seniors in 2017 and 2018. Indiana selected to win the Big Ten this season in a vote by the conference's head coaches and media. It marks the first time in school history the Hoosiers have been picked to win the Big Ten. In addition, Patberg and Berger were each preseason All-Big Ten selections. UP NEXT IU will play its next game on Sunday, December 13 against Butler at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. TheWatShot Posted December 5, 2020 Posted December 5, 2020 It's interesting that we played at Rupp in 2006, but the previous meeting before that was 10 years earlier. Why was there no return game after the last meeting? Does the Kentucky women's program back out of road games too? Stuhoo and HoosierAloha 2 Quote
TheWatShot Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Things I never thought I'd say 15 years ago: got a few things to get done this afternoon, but I can still have the Colts game on in the background. I want to finish before the IU women's basketball game starts. mamasa, HoosierAloha and Todd41 3 Quote
mamasa Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 G I sure hope we stick with the game where it’s a 40 point spread instead of splitting off to the women’s gameSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Class of '66 Old Fart and HoosierAloha 1 1 Quote

TheWatShot Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 What in the literal f*ck was that call? Patterson pushes Patberg into a screen and correctly gets called for an offensive foul, then they change the call to a foul on Patberg? mamasa 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 6, 2020 Author Posted December 6, 2020 Greg Murray is actually radio broadcasting this game from his parents home!! He tweeted this earlier this afternoon. Here’s my setup for #iuwbb this afternoon. Thanks to my parents for letting me use their living room for road games. They have better internet, and a dog that barks much less than mine. mamasa, LIHoosier and HoosierAloha 3 Quote
