Evidently Bon Jovi piped in and said he was in as well. D and D then went on to mention a few other performers who are big college football fans and whether this could become a thing. So, other than Mellencamp, who else could support IU in a meaningful way? Jesse Bonjiovi, Jon's son, was a walk on DB for Notre Dame, so there's the Bon Jovi connection. I can't think of any other artists that have a connection to IU. Jacobs School of Music would have several composers or classical musicians but people wouldn't recognize them. steubenhoosier 1 Quote

I'm not a lahhh-yer, so can't say for sure, but based on a layman's reading, it seems to make sense... (probably 100% wrong, then) /s Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted October 15 Author Posted October 15 Nothing in the story about the amount Merchants Bank is paying IU. https://iuhoosiers.com/news/2026/10/15/general-indiana-athletics-expands-partnership-with-merchants-bank-through-first-ever-integrated-jersey-patch-program OliviaPope40 and Pagoda 1 1 Quote

It's a five year deal. Hopefully the amount is big. Usually if it is they'll brag about it, but who knows. The number will probably come out in time. The patch itself is crimson which is nice -- it doesn't stand out and look bad (Merchants color is usually green). Quote

Is this a consolation prize because they know the field is eventually going to get named after Cignetti whenever that deal is up? Quote

Easy money for doing basically nothing. I'd be really happy, but they're doing this for Purdoo too, so that takes it down to making me fairly happy. Dave from Dayton Posted Friday at 05:51 PM Posted Friday at 05:51 PM I did not steal the $6.36 billion in cryptocurrency. But, from here on out, IU NIL will be fully funded. Trust me. And I can now afford BTN+ and Peacock! OliviaPope40, AZ Hoosier, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 1 3 Quote
