Seth Tow  -  Teri Moren says Mackenzie Holmes looks "healthy and great" but may not play in Greece out of extreme caution.

What was her injury exactly?  Did she have surgery to repair or just rest and rehab?

Even in high school she always played having a knee issue and continued through her career at IU.  Last summer 2022 procedure was successfully completed.  It was stated this last injury arose during 2023 Michigan State big ten tournament game.  (I thought myself, there was kind of an awkward foul called towards end of Iowa game on Cznano where Holmes stumbled slightly).  Supposedly injury happened in MSU game.  It will be a focus/concern for 2023-2024 season and for as long as she continues to play.

Beaumont with an off shooting game but with 8 assists and 12 rebounds. LaMendola also shows out.

Sounds like they played the equivalent of a  high school team tho.

And not a great high school team though they were supposed to be an all star team.  LeMendola is confident.  IU Ladies ran up and down with very little resistance.  Parrish is a ️ star.  Learned not to much more than 0 other than IU Ladies can play basketball.

Game can be watched on International Tournament utube under. Sports Illustrated IU fans nation

Sara left the game with a knee injury. Not sure the extent of the injury.

She took a shot afterwards and walked to bench. Looked like she will be ok, hopefully.  Getting any information (accurately) is like getting blood out of a turnip as things stay inside.

Man, that was some ugly basketball. Missed layups, terrible defense, sloppy passes. If Syd and Sara had not hit a bazillion threes they would be trailing at halftime. Not what I was hoping to see. I guess I'll watch the second half.

A lot of the first half was awful.  These what I call exhibition games don’t tell much.  The question will be how well will they play against the best teams or near best teams in the country??? I do think the IU Ladies will be very very good baring injuries etc. Liked Bargesser picking up full court when she played….she doesn’t nor will play near full games.  GREAT VACATION THOUGH

In a game your winning especially an insignificant game by 50+ or even 30 set your starters on the bench, preferably set 1 thru 7…..the last 4 or 5 minutes because the other team is frustrated that can create unnecessary fouls or contact….or at least stop aggressive play even if it’s just dribbling out the clock.  (The other side is you have to play the game)….First option is much better.

Scalia X-Ray shows knee strain and out 2 to 4 weeks.  However, MRI to follow.

We're incredibly deep.

IU Ladies we’re deep last year compromised by a couple injuries.  Have to stay healthy or you find out that you are not as deep as you thought.  This is true of almost if not all teams.
