Too much hero game from DeVonte but getting a lot of zero game from others.

It’s a lot of ball dominating, dribbling the air out of the ball until the shot clock winds down so he can take a step back contested 3. That or he whizzes a bullet at the feet of Davis/Brunk for a turnover

Or tries to break the press by throwing it right at a defender's hands.

I don’t disagree.  But I keep looking at Al who doesn’t seem to want the ball, Damezi who can’t score, and Armaan who should become a nice player but right now he’s just a freshman who’s not ready and I don’t see the other options as very good ones either.

And most of the time Green is awful.  Why accept that on the slim chance he doesn't suck that game?  That's what it comes down to for me, he's completely lousy more than he's good so leave him on the bench because odds are he won't help.

At least Franklin has an excuse for playing like a freshman, with Green it's just that he's bad at basketball.

If Archie is guaranteed 4 years as most agree, and we are trying to build and have an old/seasoned team, and what we are doing now isn’t working, why not play the young guys and invest for the future? Start rob and armaan and hunter

Because Archie is trying really hard to win now.. and it’s not working.

I assume Green was voted captain by the players. If so, I further assume Archie knows that Green is the leader of the team one way or another.

That being said, we did seem to play better when Greens time was limited. But if Green is the leader on team, even if he is a bad leader, Archie is a little stuck.

Archie made a comment early after hired about learning some things when he took over at Dayton and was planning to change things this time. No idea if that related to captains and leaders but I would be curious to know what it was about.

Regardless, having a bad leader is a challenge.

Because Green has win games for us when he's hot.  Damezi hasn't,  Al hasn't,  Phinisee hasn't,  Armaan has once.

I just don't understand why Green gets bashed while others don't.  True he's a senior, but he's been getting bashed for years while others get passes

Note to self. Stop letting them vote. Brunk should be a Captain.

Rob and Al have most certainly won us games when they were hot

Ehh... disagree.  But even if so, why is it only Green that gets bashed like he does?  Our guard play is garbage overall.

Others don’t get passes but “he has won us games and the others haven’t isn’t true.

Green has lost us a bunch of games, I cannot recall the others being the catalyst for losses like green. I also recall Al hitting big threes to win the game against MSU last week, Phinisee hitting the big shot to beat Butler, Armaam hitting the corner three for a win.

Yes, Damezi looks more like a d-3 player than a power 5 d-1 player

Hitting a shot at the end is different than dropping 30 points.

But overall my point stands.  Green isn't the only one playing poorly.

You're latching on to what Green has shown is only a very small chance.  The odds that Green will go on and win us the game are not in our favor at all; more likely to be a catalyst to us losing.

Green gets "bashed" because game after game year after year he makes the exact same mistakes without learning or improving.

The bulk of his career says he's not what some on this board think he is, but for some reason they cling for dear life to the slim chance he won't suck out loud.  Yes Anderson has been lousy and Phinisee has been disappointing; that doesn't make Green something he isn't, the fact we still want him on the bench speaks to how awful he normally is.

Green is talented but makes bad decisions and lazy. Rob is young and hurt. Al is limited but generally hardworking. Those faults are much more tolerable.

He gets bashed because he seems to not care. And in games we’ve won down the stretch, where has he been? On the bench. Ohio State and Michigan State. But vs Arkansas and Maryland.. he’s in and we lose.

If you are like me and think the offensive system we run and what’s being taught and that things aren’t getting fixed, watch this.

If you think the only reason our offense is bad is because we have no shooters, watch this.

Hire this guy. Might explain the lack of driving lanes.

You take a team that

1) can’t shoot
2) can’t beat guys 1 v 1
3) has poorly designed offense for PnR base offense

You get this mess of an offense we see. One of the worst offenses in the country relative to its talent.

That’s about the most obvious yet problematic thing this team has done for almost 3 years straight. Stupid is as stupid does. Who is this guy and how do we get him on our bench?

And Phinisee has literally hit game winning shots for us.
