We have 3 guys who are shooting that now. We lose a 40% shooter and likely replace with a 35-38% shooter. 
 
it’s not really gonna fix much 

I never said it would. What I said is that Leal is a shooter and I get tired of people fighting him off. Also nobody knows what his stats are this year because Bloomington South hasn’t posted them.

And before people think a freshmen who can shoot is still going to be able to shoot in college Damezi shot 37% in his high school career. So forgive me for not expecting a guy who shot 38% percent as a junior to help let alone fix our massive issue.

Brendan Barry could be an option too, these numbers would certainly be a boost.

12/35 on 3 pointers(34.3%)

 67/108 on all FG(62%)

 32/42 on FTs(76.2%)

 4.5 rebounds per game.

I don’t really concern myself with fantasy land/alternate realities. 
 

The Kid is a fine basketball player but he’s a sub 40% shooter his high school junior and senior years not to mention most likely his AAU career. And no hypotheticals are going to make him shooter. 
 

Can he bust his butt and become one?  Maybe but counting on non shooters to be them is a recipe for disaster.

Just like I would let Isaiah Joe shoot as many shots as he wanted even though he is a 34% 3 point shooter this year compared to a 41% shooter last year. My in person observations have confirmed what the national scouting report his on him. Shooting is his major attribute and will get him on the court early.

Ask the paid scouts that have evaluated him as a good shooter and ask the coaching staffs that recruited him as a shooter
