Jerry Palm has them currently as a 10 and I thought he was one of the best current ones?

Chalk it up to reverse psychology. Bowl Cut predicted 10-0 IUFB to play in the Pinstripe Bowl and it didn't work out, so let's try putting IUBB 'safely' in the field.

Where things stand on the last Sunday of the regular season

IU

19-12

Q1- 4-12 (3 1a wins )@11, 15, @36, @63

Q2-5-0 (36, 63, 71, 98(neutral), @115

Q3-7-0(77,86, 92, 113, 138, 150, 158)

IU only played 3 Q4 games (3-0) as of today

16-12 against the top 3 Quads

SOS-32

Non con Sos-159

WAB-45

SOR-48

KPI-34

ken Pom- 45

4 road wins and 5 wins away from home

IU is in really good position when compared to other bubble teams.  As long as there isn’t a ton of bid stealers IU is in great position on this Sunday

I'm glad it looks like IU will make the tournament but I sure am tired of squeaking in. I hope the next coach is wildly successful and bubble years are few and far between while years with no chance are pretty much nonexistent.

It would also be nice to  occasionally win the B1GT to actually get an automatic bid.

I believe IU actually has three quad 1A wins -- Warren Nolan lists road games at NET 1-40 as quad 1A, so the win at Ohio State would qualify.

IU's NET moved up from 56 to 52 yesterday.

I called this before the season even started, pretty sure I got the exact record right of 19-12 and said we'd be a bubble team.

Gary Parrish and Norlander's podcast previewed Indiana before the season began and they both took the over on 22.5 regular season wins. I immediately took the under on it.

You're right though. I sure hope the next coach starts to exceed expectations around here.

When was the last time we surpassed pre-season expectations? How many times in the last 10 years?

Exceed expectations  in the last 10 years? 0 times.  It's been rare to even reach expectations in that  time.

I just want to get back to talking about seed instead of in we're in or not.

My amateur take is that IU is currently the last team in which would make them the last team on the bye line.  Would depend on how they compare IU to Oklahoma, IMO.  Both teams at 19-12.  Numbers are very similar.  Personally I give the nod to IU as Oklahoma had six games against teams with NET of 300+ while IU had one.   Just my opinion, but only playing three quad four games opposed to Oklahoma's seven should mean something.

If that is the case, any bid stealers knocks IU down to the first four unless IU were to win at least a game in the BTT.  For USPS's sake, I hope IU is off the first four lines.

The 2015-16 team that won the Big Ten title exceeded expectations.

I want to get back to the place where IU consistently is competing to win the B1G, a power team again, making it a destination school for top recruits along with portal transfers to fill in the team as opposed to trying to rebuild with transfers— the NCAA tourneys and deep runs will come with that.

It’s been a long time but we’re still a sleeping giant. Get the right coach and we’ll be watching a winning program again soon

Exceeded expectations in Woody’s first year with X, Parker Stewart, Kopp, Race, and Trayce starting. Made the tourney. For me that was probably Woody’s best year.

Big West (UC San Diego) they play a regular season game tonight on espn 2 at 11.  Recommend watching them

Watching San Diego from last night right now. Man, if they end up something like a 12 and they catch a 5 on a bad shooting night those guys are going home. They really communicate on D and they’re not giving up anything easy to these guys. They’ve definitely got a talent ceiling, but they’re very, very well coached.

Bubble bursted today, Nebraska loses to Iowa and will miss the BTT tournament

Wow.  Remarkable ending to the season. I hope what’s his name is done (Williams?).  He’s a straight bucket getter.  Only need like 2 of final 5 to be NCAA tourney bound to missing BTT Tourney is pretty close to unbelievable.

Williams is done, used up all his eligibility. To be fair, Nebraska was leaning out anyways, since they were failing from brackets. TeamRankings only gave them an 33.3% of making the tournament as of this morning, compared to around 50% to 60% last week. Seemed like they needed to win a couple of BTT games to be even considered.

They were 17-9 with 3 homes left.  Lost both road games and all 3 homes to end the year.   If they would have won 2 of the 5 games they are still probably in the field.   Just a big time collapse

Yup, but even if they won today against Iowa, they probably needed 2 BTT games. But that’s my opinion

At least 1 for sure in the BTT.  There problem was losing home games.  I think they lost 6 homes games in conference

When viewing Drake if they lose the committee will only view them with 27 wins. They played 2 non D1 teams and those won’t show up on the team sheet.   Still think they get in even when a loss but it will be close
