Rolling Meadows (10-4), which broke a modest two-game losing streak, also had its legs under it as the Mustangs converted 22-of-22 free throws, including 12 in the fourth quarter when they were able to pull away and defeat Fremd 63-53.

"This is one of the most intense crossover games I have been involved in a long time," said Fremd coach Bob Widlowski, who is in his 19th season. "They were 22-of-22 from the line. You don't see that very often and I have not seen that very often."

Max Christie scored 24 points, converting all 12 of his free throws.  "It felt great," said Christie, who had 11 rebounds, 3 steals, 4 assists and a block. "I am just trying to have fun out there. All that matters to me is that we got the win."

Is there even a 1% chance that this guy goes anywhere other than Duke?

He’s been quoted saying he’s a Duke fan but he’s definitely going through the recruiting process. Probably will end up being Duke though if I had a crystal ball vote.

Rolling Meadows (14-6) with a 60-54 come from behind win over Prospect (10-11).

Extracted from newspaper account -

...Prospect still had a comfy lead (31-22) at halftime, but Christie, who was being watched from the stands by Michigan State coach Tom Izzo, was about to make life much less comfortable.

Christie, who had 10 points at halftime, came out possessed in the third quarter, hitting 4-of-6 shots for 9 points. By the latter stages of the third quarter, Prospect was clinging to a 39-38 lead.

The Knights still finished the third up 45-40, but then Christie scored Rolling Meadows' first eight points of the fourth quarter, capped by a steal and thunderous dunk, and Rolling Meadows took its first lead of the game, 48-47 with 4 minutes to play.

Christie scored 19 of his game-high 29 points in the second half.  He also added 12 rebounds.

Good to hear Izzo wasting his time recruiting a kid who’s just going through the motions until he commits to Duke. Less time he will spend trying to poach Indiana kids. Go get ‘em Tom!

Rolling Meadows beaten handily by Deerfield 74-51.

Extract from newspaper write-up:  Clearly showing how much they respected Meadows' celebrated junior Max Christie, they chased him all over the court, trapping him in zones and doubling him in man-to-man. While he displayed patience and poise and distributed the ball to his little brother Cameron (team-high 14 points), Orlando Thomas (8) and Jonah Ogunsanya (8), Max Christie only wound up with 8 points himself on just 9 shots as Deerfield was clearly conscience of and focused on him.
