They got rid of straws because of the plastic waste. Their solution? A lid that has more plastic than a straw/lid combo and giving out paper straws in plastic wrappers. But it was them getting rid of straws that mattered. People didn’t care that they were using more plastic. It made it seem like Starbucks cared and that they were better than the competition. Ohio State and Michigan State are competition to Indiana.
