From Big Ten Network:  In response to reporters' questions, Minnesota A.D. Mark Coyle says Reggie Lynch is suspended from playing but remains a member of the men's basketball team.

Lynch, 23, can appeal the decision. Otherwise, it will go into effect on Jan. 9. Athletics director Mark Coyle said Friday morning that “Lynch is still part of our basketball program” but won’t play Saturday against Indiana at Williams Arena. He can still practice with the team.

My guess is Reggie lynch has played his last game at the u of m. Sounds like it will be months before any decision is made.

Not really, he already beat a team with the pre season acc player of the year and potential all American that started 5 scholarship players without his own guys. The game where walk ons were playing we had one playing as well difference was they were playing at home with a 3rd team all American in their team.

This could blow up in Minnesota's athletic directors face. Sounds like women came to him earlier with lynch complaints and he blew them off. If you recall the last ad at Minn was fired for sexual harassment so they don't make the best hires. Never a dull moment in Minn athletics.

The plan was always to have him practice with the team until the appeal is decided but he won't be playing any games. I believe they mentioned that on the broadcast.

I agree with Dakich here though - it's your second allegation of sexual violence in as many years. Time to go.

This is kind of off-topic but I wanted to comment on Dakich's narrative he throws out a few times a year (mentioned it several times during the Minny game) about coaches being stripped of all power when it comes to academics, off-court discipline, etc. I'm not disagreeing with the premise that they have been stripped of power, but he fails to add in that the reason they've been stripped of those powers is because for decades upon decades coaches have been cheating and breaking rules, and then lying about doing those things when they get caught. 

If coaches could keep their hands out of the cookie jar, and then not lie their faces off when they're caught in the cookie jar, they'd probably still have those powers.

Appears he is appealing the suspension. According to this article he is only suspended from competition and is still eligible to practice and attend classes until the appeal is heard.
