Post Game Discussion : Indiana 55 vs Michigan 69

Based on all of the comments Moore made during the period between his decommitment and then re-upping, if he was going to be redshirted by Archie he was gone.  High school ego much much bigger than reality.
Crean probably told him he was the next cody zeller.

I'm sorry, but that would make me very angry. When we needed a new coach, I wanted one who could coach up the kids he had. If it takes this coach three years to win, I'll be lighting my pitchfork.
Yeah no more three year rebuilds. The program was not blown up so this should not take three years. No excuses

I think it's still fair to say when there is a 150 ranking difference between offense and defense it's a pretty good indicator 1 is better than the other.

Nobody is saying otherwise. What I have been saying is two games truly padded those stats. The ISU game where they hit every 3 it seemed will do that to you. We aren’t turning the ball over which obviously helps our numbers. We need shooters.

Wasn’t anyone available better than Archie so you are safe there.

I am well aware who the players are.  In fact I've said the same thing multiple times.

Knight's offense moved and got good shots consistently.  This offense (at least yesterday and against Indiana State) looks completely lost and out of sync sometimes.  We're doing well getting it into the post; but the offense generally leaves the defense very little margin for error.

Your last 4 sentences of the previous post made it seems as though you had forgotten.

Guys missing wide open jumpers really hamper what we're able to do.

I never said anything about Crean this isn't about Crean in any way. the offense has its flaws but what's keeping us from being a tournament team is our inability to stop teams.

Nobody said you did, but I thought it should be obvious the comparison since people for 6 years complained the numbers didn’t tell the story when we had top 25 offenses often. Pretty much what is going on here. Are we not able to do that now that Crean is gone?

Would you rather CAM try to coach them up using fCTC system or instill his system through the growing pains?

Alex, what is 95?    And with that I win a daily double.  We are currently 47-142 for 33.1%.  Our opponents are 74-182 for 40.7%.   So if my basic math is correct, that's an 81 point differential through 8 games.  We've actually hit 14 more total FG's that our opponents but that 3-point shooting -- ugh!

Great points!

Disagree, but irrelevant.

Lol I know. Glad the people with money sided with me. I couldn’t stand IU withMarshall and his wife here. I’d be shocked if you agreed with me on anything and vice versa by your history with me and what you like when people quote me. It’s ok though. Feelings mutual and go Colts .

I don't get it. Honestly dont.

I feel no grudge or historic disagreement with you at all. If you do, it's all on your side. There's no reason for me.

I'm just responding to the post. Nothing sinister.

What is with the hot seat talk lol. Didn’t he sign a 5 year contract? Archie isn’t going anywhere for at least 4 years. Plenty of time to build a system and prove his chops.
Didn’t most people think this was a lost season anyway?

People are going overboard lol. Not sure why people thought we would be good getting rid of 2 best players on a bad team but glad our expectations stay high more pressure ro get results imo

Nah.  I know, and I'm not yet concerned because I think we have a void in leadership and understanding right now.   There is no offense that can get enough layups to win a basketball game.  A couple of times, I have seen our team consciously avoid transition offense, and covered my face with my hands knowing what was coming.

For the record, the comments about Knight were made before he arrived.  Mine were made after seeing a few examples and a couple of complete games where an offense just stagnates.    I was very critical of Crean even in his first year because I can teach a co-ed in flip flops to stand around.   So far, I don't see any creativity with this offense.   It looks very much like most offenses; and I'm a little weary of being "just like everyone else."

I can't believe anyone is judging Coach Miller this early in his tenure. That '93-94 team that was an injury away from another banner took its share of lumps their first two years. And that was with what was considered at the time the best basketball coach in the game. I know everyone wants everything now these days but give Coach Miller a chance to get his guys playing his system and then judge him. This is a poorly constructed team recruited for a different style of play. Like everyone else I hoped Coach Miller make them good, but maybe we just don't have enough talent to get the job done. If three years from now we look the same way, then I'm on board with making a change. But, I think we will be liking what we are seeing by then.

I had higher expectations because I know that a good coach can take this team to a tournament.

I'm not saying Archie can't. I'm not saying Archie won't. I'm just saying that this team has the talent to make the tournament.

If they were could hit the broadside of a barn you are right. Learning a new system is clearly effecting their performance lets hope they get it figured out.
