Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers

Recommended Posts

My investigative reporting has lead to this thought.

Miller said in one interview the 2017 recruiting class was huge because it would be a 9 player swing if the 2017 kids didn't reaffirm.

So, the math.

3 2017 recruits.

6 Seniors. Hartman, Johnson, Priller, McSwain, Newkirk, Blackmon.

This and the comments about guard depth give me reason to think JBJ may return.

I'm not holding my breath but there are some hints that JBJ could come back.

I think that TB going is extremely likely.
I think that CuJo leaving is as likely as JBj leaving.

0% chance Bryant stays

40% chance Blackmon stays

Those are my completely arbitrary numbers. If Blackmon stays I see Cujo leaving. There won't be time for him next year and we're recruiting some top guards in 2018. The rumors of TB missing classes, him not being at the Hoosier Showcase and Archie not talking about him make me think he has already made his decision. It seems like Blackmon is intrigued by the thought of playing for Archie. I think he wants to play pro ball next year, but I also think he's interested in coming back because of the way Archie would use him.

Yes bryant is gone but jbj may return it seems. Chances of bryant returning are zero. He may get dragged but I don't ever see him in the NBA

We should find out within a matter of days just how highly regarded our 4 potential NBA'ers are regarded.

The deadline for NBA teams to vote on their preferred invites for the NBA Combine was noon yesterday. Invites should go out tonight/tomorrow

How many kids do they invite?

CuJo is gonna be a break-out star in an IU uniform, and Grant Gelon will be right by his side enjoying it?

See this is what I feel also.  I see raw untapped potential with Cujo, Morgan and Davis. If Miller can just continue to get the most of his players like he did at Dayton.  We should be a tough out next year, and if we can get Garland or Langford right in the mix by 2018

I'm assuming OG won't get one since he can't work out, right?

IMO, JBJ isn't in the 70.  You would that players showing up in the 70 are appearing in a mock draft or two.....I haven't been seeing JBJ in any of them.  Remember last year Yogi didn't get invited (Troy Williams did).  I think after the top 50 or so, teams are more interested in seeing what players who have more questions about their capabilities get invited.  I think teams already know what Blackmon can do....shoot, rebound decently for his size, but really lacking defensively.  Ferrell's abilities were definitely more known than Williams last year which IMO is why Troy got the invite and not Yogi.
