Coach Search 2017 IU Candidate: Tony Bennett (University of Virginia)

I believe Tony Bennett would recruit Indiana better than Crean had. It seemed like Crean lost a lot of his credibility in the state while Bennett got Guy right out from under us in 2016. Have also heard that some instate kids like Jallow (specifically) are very interested in Virginia while having had near completely written off Crean and IU.

I would be very happy if we ended up getting Bennett. If Donovan says no then my order would go Bennett, Archie, Sean, Mack, and Collins.

Hmmmmmmmm.......I'm trying to get a handle of how many non-disciplinary transfers they've averaged in the past. Looks like about one a year. 

Think there might be a theory as to why three, including their second leading scorer are jumping ship?

I know transfers are common now days but dont like alot of them. Wish we knew why his kids want out

Personally would think he is a great hire but I just dont get a feeling Bennett and IU are a match. Most of you guys would be complaining about how boring the offense is in 2 years.

Only (I know, I know) makes $2.1 million per at UVA.

Altruistic is one thing, but the $2-3 million per year raise we could offer is large.

Its not just that.  3 Million a year, a recruiting budget that probably is at LEAST doubled and probably the money to hire any assistants he wants.

I know our campus is beautiful and all. But so is Virginias campus. Maybe he likes the lifestyle . For some, money is not the main issue if you are happy and comfortable?

I'd be one of them tbh, not really a fan of Bennett's style.

I think $3 million more a year hitting his bank account would give him a lot of happiness.. Hopefully enough to pry him away at least.

Personally I would love a methodical offense for a change.  I grew to absolutely loathe Crean's run and gun and look another turnover aannnndddd there's another offense.

Probably not in my best interest to make a guess because it will be twisted as fact...is Bennett viable, at this point, very much so.
