You agreed that it is amazing that a football school like ND got into the Elite 8. My point is that is would have been easier to get into the Elite 8 vs Wiscy rather than one of the two best teams in the country (UNC).

We put ourselves in that position. In all seriousness it's been eight years how long do u want to wait till we get passed the sweet sixteen? Any of u for that matter? Honestly, u know my limit what is yours?

My point was that ND won 3 games in the tourney last year and won 3 games in the tourney this year and are still alive. Meanwhile IU has won 2 games, period.

6 wins vs 2. There are all sorts of matchups and lack there of in those two years. ND has done way more with less

Our seeding was our own Fault.

As I type this I know we will disagree but a team that wins the BT  regular season by 2 games should never be a 5 seed.

But but beyond that....bottom line is that ND beat Wiscy to get into the Elite 8 while we played UNC.

Would we all the sudden be better if we were in the Elite 8 because we beat WI, a team vastły inferior to UNC?

of course not.

Well what about last year where we lost in the first round, didn't play UNC last year.  And yes the BT regular season champs deserve a 5th seed if they also have 3 horrible losses on the season and can't be trusted by the committee to show up.  We had a chance to prove we could win on a neutral court in the BTT and dropped the ball

Or perhaps many posters dream will come true and we get Alford!!

On a positive note maybe the UCLA fans, who would give anything to get him to leave, would crowdfund Steve's IU salary.

If you look at Tournament resumes Duke was a 4 seed with a much better resume then us. They only had 1 RPI loss outside the top 100 won 6 RPI top 50 games and had a strength of schedule of 10.

Indiana did have 6 RPI top 50 wins, but had 3 losses to teams outside the top 100 and one of those was outside the top 150, and there strength of schedule was 100th.

Looking at that and how they was seeding I don't think a 5 seed was completely out of line.

Ok

and my point is I think we would be in the elite 8 if we played Wiscy instead of UNC.

I would at least use an example that we had not lost to this year and only beat by 1 at Assembly Hall.

We can't just wait around though and hope he needs a job.  Won't happen.  We'd have to actually take the chance and pursue him and do what it takes to get him; we'll have to say screw it we're Indiana and aim for the cheap seats.

And yes, that could mean opening the coaching spot up.

So your argument is that there is no difference between playing Wiscy and one of the two best teams in the country?

every expert and Vegas would disagree but whatever...

Wait until LeBron and his buddies sign-up  together in the East, Maybe he will want out then?!  I want to be OH ST. football! Get our in state guy after he coached somewhere else and come back and take us to the promised land!  Nothing would make me happier as an IU fan.  We know CTC ain't getting it done!  Mediocrity fellas!

ND beats whoever is lined up in front of them, we don't. Don't look at it from this year alone, I'm not and wasn't. They have done something twice in back to back years Crean hasn't done once since coming to iu
