Uspshoosier Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Blackmon's offense can help but the other side of the ball he does not. It will even out They won games before with his sub par defense. Without his offense they scored .88 points per possession and only scored 55 points against Northwestern. They lost that game because they had no offense Adding one more terrible defender to the 152nd ranked defense isnt going make a difference Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mdn82, IUsafety, Class of '66 Old Fart and 2 others 5 Quote
recker222000 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 They don't want him to get feasted on at Wisconsin. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBannersThey know they are getting blasted in Madison with or without him. It helps creans injury narrative if he says that game was without jbj.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Hoosier Guy 1 Quote

Uspshoosier Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 I just don't think Blackmon is that good Which is why this place is great and everyone can have their opinions. While I think he is below average on the defensive end he more then makes up for it on the offensive end. He is a flat out bucket getter. While he won't win it, being a jerry West finalist is a big accomplishment. Before he got injured again many in the basketball world had him as a possible comeback player of the year candidate Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mdn82, Class of '66 Old Fart and IUsafety 3 Quote

Uspshoosier Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 He can make a difference but I just don't think he will with this team at this point in time. I think they're just sunk You never know. There is enough talent on this team to win more games. Besides at Purdue, and at wisky the other games are winnable (yes even the other road games). Ohio st is a mess, Fran will do what he always does and try to run with IU so that should give IU a chance, Minny is trending down as well. They might win them or they might lose all 3. If Blackmon was out with injury their chances of winning would become smaller imo Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Quote

Hoosier Guy Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Blackmon does give them a better chance to win. That can't be denied. But I'm just saying with this team right now the way it is, I'm not so sure Quote

It took 3 guys with career highs and 3 OT's to beat PSU at Assembly Hall; hard for me to think that if JBJ plays Sunday that his return to action is the difference between a W and an L at Wisconsin. Hoosierfan2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Posted February 3, 2017 Against Wiscy I think Blackmon playing is the difference between a respectable loss and a total beatdown. He's a guy you can't leave open within 25 feet and without him on the court they can focus on shutting down Rojo. His defense isn't good, but frankly no one on a team is very good at that. He at least can more than make up for it on the offensive side. mdn82 1 Quote

Yeah he might as well sit out Sunday at Wisconsin. IU is not winning that game either way. But if he returns for the Purdue game next Thursday, that's definitely a more winnable game. Purdue is good but I do believe they're overrated to an extent. How they could lose to Minnesota, Iowa and Nebraska is beyond me. They're gonna lose tomorrow at Maryland as well Quote

Minny game was at home but to me that says that besides wisky there isn't much separation between teams 2-13. Rutgers still sucks Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners HoosierAloha 1 Quote

Your team is not elite Quote
