Anyone ever wonder what might happen if it were CTC that came down with the flu or an injury and couldn't coach?

Mike Davis tried that against Iowa...and was fired shortly thereafter. When your job is on the line, do you call in sick? Davis thought it was a good idea lol. Hopefully Crean does too

Imagine the JBJ critics if we experience some Deja Vu season turn around when JBJ goes out....

But realistically taking a defensive weakness off the floor, what will it do?

The difference being this year there aren't nearly as many offensive weapons to make up for the loss of his Offensive prowess.

He was ineligible last week (both on the road & at home) however the situation has been cleared up and he is now eligible to play again.

Our defense is general is just terrible. Not just James. We all know James can't guard a chair most nights, but this team in total can't play a lick of defense.

I agree but I believe D Green is one of the best defenders we have (from the little action I have seen of him) and this could be his opening to log more minutes... The changing of 1 piece in a defense can make a big difference....

Tends to happen when the guy running the ship either has little interest in teaching it or simply doesn't know how to teach it at a high level.

Yogi's not running through the tunnel this time so I can't see us turning the season around. Like you said, we don't have the offensive firepower to replace what JBJ brought. Now we'll probably have a bad offense to go along with our bad defense. These next 10 games might get ugly.

Rojo maybe? With Blackmon out though teams can focus on shutting him down and then we're screwed. I'm worried we'll see a Newkirk, Rojo, McRoberts, Morgan, TB starting lineup with Green and Cujo getting about the same minutes they've been getting. The two of them should split Jbj's ~30 mpg but who knows what Crean will actually do with them.

McSwain better remember his jersey.  He hasn't shown much reason to be on the floor, but you know his minutes will go up.

Long time reader for about 4 years and first time poster. Yeah I have no faith for this game at all. IU just isn't a fundamentally sound basketball team. And Northwestern finally looks like they will make the tournament. And there is the coaching discrepancy

He seems decent enough on defense and he throws down some pretty cool put-back dunks every now and then. As long as we don't try feeding him the ball in the post and we avoid playing him with Newkirk or McRoberts he should be serviceable.

I would never root for the team to lose but... I'm hoping Northwestern gets into the tourney this season. This is a critical game for them to keep a seed dropping loss off their record.

With JBJ, OG, and Hartman out and a few other players nicked up I can't see us really having a chance in this one. Will we have a role player go off because Crean can't pull them after a few made baskets or will McIntosh get revenge for IU fans being mean to him?

This seems like another game I'll get man "kicks" out of.

I will say this. Out of all the IU boards I have followed, this is by far the best one. Way better than Peegs (or The Hoosier is what it is now), Scout (which is the new Peegs and it's beyond awful), and 247. I love this board

Yeah man it's comical how IU plays. They just have no idea what they're doing most the time. And when the players look to the coach for answers, he'll just clap and play with his pants. And yes Bryant McIntosh will get revenge
