  1. https://www.on3.com/teams/indiana-hoosiers/news/he-likes-a-little-razzle-dazzle-tayton-conerway-is-bringing-a-combination-of-flash-and-toughness-to-indiana/ Nice article on Conerway. Covers a fair amount of ground. Still can’t get over the kid averaging almost 5 assists/gm on 1 of the worst shooting teams in the country.

I like looking into trivial stuff like this and the schools didn’t play last year. It looks like Johnson’s school plays a mostly city schedule and Brown’s school is more suburban without doing any research outside of looking at school names.

  3. I’m interested in seeing all of it. I can try and make some educated guesses on what we’ll see but I wouldn’t feel confident in any of them. There’s just not much in a consistent analytic footprint for CDD. I think I would agree with you though that we’ll be close to upper 1/3rd in tempo. Just a hunch.

  4. We finally get a year with no OSU or Michigan and now PSU decides to have its best team in awhile. "IU football is so lucky." --said no one ever.

  6. ProBallHoosiers - Forward @GulbeAleksa has signed with LDLC ASVEL Féminin (@ASVEL_Feminin). Les Lionnes play in the Ligue Féminine de Basketball, top tier league in France. They play outside of Lyon in the suburb Villeurbanne.

Wow. If 2 players of that caliber are that close together and those schools don’t schedule home and home this year and next year the AD’s need to be smacked.

  8. Full story behind the paywall but the fact we got a specific mention from Talia in her tweet suggests we're actively recruiting the young lady. Talia Goodman @TaliaGoodmanWBB Top 2027 recruit Ryan Carter remains wide open and broke down her recruitment with @Rivals. Programs discussed: Duke, Notre Dame, UNC, Indiana, Maryland

  9. I understand the analytics side of assessing things, which of course also depends on how past teams were built. Here, players when interviewed about what they discussed with DeVries and staff when being recruited specifically commented on how they’re looking to get out and run, and DeVries said the same thing in a published interview about the team. And of course we don’t have rim protecting traditional bigs, we have guys who can spread the floor and get out on the break. I’d be really surprised if we’re not a running and gunning team

I want to see all 5 guys on the court working together to get the BEST shot, not running offense to showcase the offensive skills of certain players. Play for others, make the extra pass, extra cut. I think we'll see that. Build from there! I liked Malik, as well, it's too bad he didnt have a coach to hold him accountable.

Worst case scenario: Fran McCaffery's Iowa teams in one of their down years. Best case scenario: McDermott's teams at Creighton or Oats' teams at Bama. Most likely scenario? Somewhere in-between.

  14. I’m not sure honestly. He has grown tremendously in the last year from an athletic, quickness, and physical standpoint. He has a very nice skill set for a stretch 4 type of guy, especially one that will not be the vocal point of a scouting report. He will do a lot of the little things and does move without the ball well making reads, back cuts, and what not. I have my worries defensively and I didn’t get to watch many games at Montverde so that’s more from my perspective at heritage hills. Wasn’t that he was a bad defender but he didn’t “HAVE” to play it at heritage hills because he was just better than everyone else. So I figured he would grow a lot in that area once he got to college. So he can certainly grown into,or maybe already has, a plus defender. I’m also not trying to be a homer because it’s hard to stay biased about a kid I’ve taught, coached, and have known personally for awhile now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
