(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky

From the Crimson Quarry...VERY GOOD STUFF; had no idea of the huge family connection to Coach Schilling! "The hire of assistant coach Ed Schilling could prove to be the biggest boon of all considering the history he has in the state. Schilling’s first head coaching job was at Wright State in the late 1990’s, where one of his players was Keion Brooks Sr. Schilling has stayed very close to the Brooks family ever since, and now, 20 years later, Keion Brooks Jr. is a 5-star prospect in the class of 2019 at Fort Wayne North HS. While it’s far from a sure thing that Brooks would come to play under the same tutelage as his father, this is a major development for Indiana in the recruitment of a top talent not only in the state, but nationally."

Well, someone finally proved my 1st grade teacher wrong. There is such a thing as a stupid question. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Also worth mentioning. Our 3 recruits really like one another, talk regularly, and are excited to be Hoosiers. All seem to come from good families. All 3 will be easy to root for. Just hope we have enough firepower. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners

I have MANY Matt Roth regrets. Especially when I think about the Syracuse game.

Lemme see if I understand your points from your last couple posts: 1) You don't want Crean's players on the floor, but; 2) Gelon and Priller should play more (let's ignore they were Crean's players), in place of; 3) Two players with the potential to be All B1G next year, Thomas Bryant and Rob Johnson, who you think should; 4) Leave the team for a year to readjust their attitudes while sitting on the bench somewhere fulfilling their transfer obligation, and then; 5) Return to Indiana to sit on the bench for another year to fulfill their transfer obligation, at which point Bryant and Johnson will have surpassed their alotted 5 years to play 4 seasons, meaning both will be ineligible to continue playing college basketball. Let me know if I missed anything. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I've been away all evening so I'm just now seeing the news. This is great stuff, I wasn't expecting Moore to stick with us. Archie was able to get three guys he didnt have relationships with to reaffirm their commitments when they could've picked from a number of different schools. He also convinced Collin to come back after he seemed like he was well on his way to moving on with his life. I might be jumping the gun, but I feel really good about Archie being able to recruit at a high enough level to compete for big ten and national championships.

http://www.crimsonquarry.com/2017/4/17/15320790/recruiting-the-class-of-2018-just-the-beginning-for-archie-miller A good overview article from the Crimson Quarry. Very hot take on Keion Brooks, which will be added to the Keion Brooks thread.

Because they're not division I basketball players. We play division 1 basketball here at Indiana.

I've said this before and I'll say it again: Archie knows. ... He has to know who's staying and who's going or have a very, very good indication of such. Otherwise, he would've just let Moore or Durham go. They wanted out of their LOIs and if we were to remain oversigned, the easy thing would be to just release them. But he worked hard to keep them. That tells me he's pretty hip to the scholly situation and knows how it will play out.

Clifton has reaffirmed his commitment, per Brian Snow. This is big news. Shows how well Archie can sell his vision. All 3 recruits never even talked to other schools.

An acquaintance from New Albany played in the Italian league in the early 80's.Said he got to drive a Maserati and had lots of Italian girlfriends.I could think of worse ways for a guy to spend young adulthood.

The whole team stunk, but damn, Vic. Let's chalk it up to jitters in his first playoff game, and hope for better next game... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Yes, but he won't. We'll see him next year giving his senior speech and AH will be going bonkers for him.

McSwain ain't going anywhere. He is 1 of 2 guys that actually improved last year over the course of the season (with JN). I think he will play 10-15 minutes a game as he's big, tough and athletic. And he just posted an Instagram photo of himself working out with CAM watching on.

Is there any chance someone goes to a "prep" school for a year? No. ...a player like Gelon transferring to a Jr college and then coming back Nope. _____________________________________________________________________ The last two spots will open when JBj and/or TB goes pro, and/or when current players transfer away permanently. The most likely scenario by far is that both JBj and TB go pro.

WOW, I didnt realize Schilling and the Brooks family were close. I'm loving that hire more and more.

It's funny right? The way some on here talk about him, you'd think he was a sub 10 points a game guy who had no shot at playing professional ball. I'm not saying JBJ is gods gift to earth, but the kid is one of the best scorers in the big ten, and will make lots of money playing professionally at some level, whether that's as a niche knock down shooter in the NBA, or overseas. We would be foolish not to welcome JBJ back with open arms for another season.

Several very recent reports via twitter say he's all in on Indiana. From Jeremy Price: Looks like all the #iubb recruits are staying. That means current Hoosiers must be going, pro or otherwise.
