Plug for my cousin's husband's book: Soundtrack of Silence: Love, Loss and a Playlist for Life. His name is Matt Hay -- he attended IU and is still a very huge IU basketball fan. It's a biography about his time at IU as he developed neurofibromatosis 2, a condition which caused tumors to grow on the nerves that transmit sound to his brain. It is being optioned into a movie -- when it was first pitched as a movie, Channing Tatum was set to take the role as Matt but it was delayed and the production company decided that it should be released first as a biography and then as a film, so Tatum likely is too old to play the part at this point I would think.

Lol… I remember going to a local alumni event when he was first hired and he was making the rounds. I took my father who knows a little something about sales having done it for several decades at a F400 company. Afterwards I remember my dad saying, “I have no idea if he can coach basketball but he has a future in sales if he wants it.” I throw Crean in with Davis: maddening when they’re the coach which makes them hard to like in the moment. But as more time passes I can’t help but sort of like them as people. It’s not a sin to take on a job bigger than you and come up a little short. Crean specifically seems like he still supports the program to a degree.

Also the comps to Jokic and Embiid need to stop. Jokic js a generational passer who had a unique background that led to that skill set, as well as his borderline elite hands on defense. Embiid is a physical marvel. Dude is a freak athletically for his size. Edey comps to a better Boban. Dudes that take 3 plus years jn college don’t become stars in the league or anything but role players. It’s not because NIL either. They just simply aren’t good enough

No he isn’t. That’s just a statement. It’s not based on anything. Dude is slow and unathletic. He can’t shoot. He is a mid passer even with gravity. He js a career back up level player

I loved watching this kid in high school. Even to my untrained eye he was a baller. Alex Karaban caught fire in the 3-point star shooting drill, hitting 14 straight 3s. Made 21/25 total for by far the best figure so far at the NBA draft combine. Also tops in off the dribble shooting.

An injury away from trying to claim the 5 spot on a team with title aspirations.

Winning. Playing on a national stage. Regularly playing in front of 17,000 people. Practicing against high-level players. Connections to a career after college basketball (such as overseas teams). NIL. So many good reasons.

I don't see anyway possible you could put Archie above Mike Davis. Or even Mike Woodson above Davis. Davis still won a Big Ten championship, made a final four and made an NCAA tourney(something Archie was completely incapable of doing).
