Popular Post WayneFleekHoosier Posted October 14, 2016 Popular Post Posted October 14, 2016 I know it's shocking with this coming from me but, after following media day with TB, RJ, and JB it got me thinking. Wade, Zeller, Oladipo. What do these guys have in common? Crean recruits in the NBA. These are tremendous men and basketball players. Crean seems to have a knack of getting/developing quality people.TB is awesome, OG, Rob, Yogi, Max, Ziesloft, Hulls, the list goes on and on. Aside from some Kenny Johnson days we have seen some really quality kids come through. I hope so badly that Crean can keep winning and win even bigger because I like so much about what he represents. Anyway. Credit to Crean and staff for recruiting great kids that can also play ball. I just hope he can keep up with the best with this strategy. HoosierSadaseci Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Ok, I get it, and those are some quality young men that Crean has coached, but...keep in mind they haven't all been...well, you know...but yeah, let's celebrate the good ones. Quote
BGleas Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 The change in character of the team from the 2013-14 to now is stunning, and seems to be purposeful. I remember rooting for the team in 13-14 and 14-15, but largely finding much of the roster individually unlikeable. I rooted for the front of jersey, but didn't care much for the kids individually. Now last year and going into this year, I have that connection with guys like TB, RoJo, OG, Morgan, Hartman, etc., and am excited for the new class. 13-15 was such a weird aberration (hopefully), don't know if was just Crean being unlucky, something about the guys Kenny Johnson targeted, or a specific change in strategy, but the guys on the team are back to being more like the 11-13 guys. Much more enjoyable to watch. HoosierAloha, HoosierCoop, Class of '66 Old Fart and 3 others 6 Quote

It feels like CTC has matured (or been forced by the university administration to mature) in his approach to the type of kid he recruits. Character issues are now a deal-breaker, no matter how talented a player might be, or what state they're from. hsrtxp and Class of '66 Old Fart 2 Quote

I believe Glass stated somewhere that a kid with any issues now has to be signed off by him. The players aren't saints but they are good representatives of the university and program. I hope this last long into the future. Class of '66 Old Fart and hsrtxp 2 Quote
