Get Ready For A Great Run

Recommended Posts

My crazy opinion for the day. I think this team might be better than our #1 team a couple years ago.

Why?

We are more athletic, we are deeper, we are very efficient when we run OUR style of play. We rebound very well and our defense is pretty dang good. That is when we are playing our best, aka , at Assembly Hall. If we can do that, we can go on a run. Now we had some better players on our number 1 team, but our bench was not very good and we weren't as athletic as we are now.

Just my crazy thought.

If we REVERT to yesterday's performance , which look like Maui , then we won't be going very far.

Up until yesterday it also appeared we looked a lot looser than the 2012-2013 team.  That team looked like it had the entire Hoosier Nation on their backs.  This team played free until Friday.  Hopefully they find that team again soon.

Didn't post anything right after the game because I was too mad. After simmering down, I truly believe the team we saw the over the course of the past couple of weeks is the real IU this year and not what we saw yesterday. I expect them to come out focused and to play well next weekend.

I also truly believe this team is set for a deep run. I think we need to start giving Anunoby more minutes, when he's on the court good things happen.

He had a couple mistakes Friday but overall he has great court awareness. We need him on the floor.

I believe this, as well. And if Hartman is not 100, give him the start.

I was thinking about this team compared to 2012-2013 as well, and I pretty much agree with you.

Our starting 5 (with Robert Johnson) is pretty comparable, but this year's bench is way better.

2012 - 2013 main subs: Will Sheehey, Jeremy Hollowell, Hanner Perea, Derek Elston, Remy Abell

2015 - 2016 main subs: Max B., OG Anunoby, Zeisloft, Morgan.

Yes! Our current bench all can hit the three and provide defense. Have all the pieces to make a deep run. Just wish we could learn how to play efficiently when other teams slow us down.
