2017 IUBB recruiting

Doesn't he play more out on the perimeter though? I'm talking about a backup big. We will probably have OGWan on the wing that could pair up with Malik Williams but we need a big to come in for Davis.

Scouts comparison of Williams is a young Willie Cauley Stein at the same point in time. Yes please!

I thought pap was saying he's moving more to the perimeter more. A defensive Cauley-Stein who can play offense inside out would be amazing in candy stripes!

I'll be really interested to see how he's utilized this summer. His hs coach just resigned under pressure from the parents and players. He wasn't the most savvy basketball coach by any stretch of the imagination.

What is his AAU program? Who else is on that team?

They lost a lot of games against bad teams. The radio guys were perplexed as to why they weren't better as a team. Williams was definitely game planned against.

Pap, do you have any information on the Northeast recruits for 2017? I looked at IU's recruiting board on 24/7 and it was "warm" on a few recruits. I'll lookup their names a bit later. Interesting to see that but assume coach Martin has been doing work up there.

I think IU is doing some work in NY, primarily Chuck Martin. Guys like Sidney Wilson, Jose Alvarado, Jordan Tucker IU is actively recruiting. There was news they are still on Mohamed Bamba recently and Crean went out to see him, I think. There are some other NY guys I can't remember off the top of my head that IU has watched and targeted but not sure they're doing a ton with them right now.

Lonnie Walker I've seen a few times and the kid can straight up ball. He's from Reading, PA so not too far. Everyone around here says he was a Nova lean, then they won the championship soooo...

2017 is loaded in Indiana. I'm intrigued with the bigs over 6'10 who can stretch the floor Jack Nunge, Jaren Jackson, Malik Williams. Then of course Gunn Wilkes and Scruggs. Could potentially be Creans most important draft class.

Nunge is 6-8/6-9 and Jackson is about the same. Williams is 6-11 and growing. If the big boys don't get involved I'd be shocked.

I recommend people who follow recruiting to attend this event next year. I went to this last year at southport and watched a ton of recruits. I don't even know the date yet but I will be going again. Hopefully some of you guys will be in attendance this year
