The NHL season starts in 10 minutes with the Tampa Bay Lightning vs the Nashville Predators on ESPN.  How sweet it is

Sucks to hear the news of Barry Melrose’s Parkinson’s diagnosis. I’ve come around to hockey just in the last 5 or so years, but that guy has been on my TV since I can remember.

McDavid got me into hockey so I’ve been passively on the Oilers train for a while now. Probably longer than 5 years now that I think about it, but 2 years ago I got really into it and then last year I watched more Oilers games start to finish than I did Pacers games. I’m pretty much all in now.

McDavid and Draisaitil are pretty much incredible. Make the game look easy. I’m looking forward to seeing Bedard. He’s gonna be a great one.

My oldest son is a huge McDavid and Oilers fan. He’s only 8 but has been watching his YouTube vids since he was like 5 years old. 
 

Cool story: A business associate of mine from Edmonton, had a condo in the same building downtown as a few  of Oilers players and ended up catching McDavid before headed to Fort Wayne. He got McDavid to sign a jersey and gave it to my boy last summer.

Edmonton is inexcusably awful this year. McDavid deserves better. He probably should just replace Stamkos next season.
