I'd rather he go to Butler vs. Purdue. Seems like the kind of Indiana kid thats really good but a little under the radar who goes to Purdue and becomes a thorn in our side for 4 years. Hope it doesn't happen.

LAS VEGAS -- 2018 point guard Robert Phinesee scored 19 points in a win over the Iowa Barnstormers on Thursday. Following the game Scout caught up with the four-star guard and discussed the schools recruiting him the hardest.  [IU, PUke, Butler, Xavier]

Evaluation Notes

Indiana native Robert Phinisee landed in Scout’s updated 2018 player rankings at the beginning of the month.

Phinesee’s play with the Indiana Elite 16’s, at least on Thursday, proved that he certainly was deserving of that honor. \

Phinesee, who stands 5-foot-11, is a crafty lead guard that uses a good handle and change of pace to slice his way into the paint and make plays. Phinesee is a good passer with quality vision, but he also proved to be a pretty good finisher as well. Through two games at the adidas Summer Championship, Phinesee is averaging 16 points and 4.5 assists. He’s also yet to turn the ball over.

With a record of 2 - 1, Phinisee's team fails to advance to the championship bracket and unless there are consolation games, his Vegas experience is over.  But despite his team not advancing Phinisee had 3 very solid ballgames.

Really like this kids game.In the title game against New Albany he was the best player on the floor not named Romeo Langford and it wasnt even close.If we miss on a point this season I believe he should be made a top priority instate.

I've seen him play several games and he never gets rattled.  In a couple of the games it almost seemed that he went out of his way in the first half to get his teammates fully involved and then he just took over scoring wise in the second half.  I hope we do make a really serious effort to recruit him and it would be even more special if he committed since he lives in PUke's backyard!

This is the point guard I want more than any other.He may not be the highest rated but the kid is a natural lead and is a hard nosed competitor.The fact he's in the Toiletmakers back yard makes him even more appealing.
