Like I said before, schedule the other Indiana schools and you'll have plenty of teams on the schedule with a mid range RPI.
Here's how they ended last season.
Valpo- 31
IPFW- 74
Evansville- 92
Ball State- 159
Indiana St- 170
IUPUI- 191

It's crazy talk but why not play two games at home against other Indiana teams as part of the Crossroads Classic?  I do really like that we're playing IPFW up in the Fort.  The two for one with Evansville (home 2010/2013, away 2011) worked out well.  I would like to see IU play in some areas with a large alumni base (Chicago, NYC, DC) or different areas around the state in the noncon.

Also, like last season we are really dependent on doing well against the top or our RPI will be a seed or two lower than it should be.  If we go 0fer against KU, UNC, and UL we are looking at an uphill battle again.

We normally play about 12 OOC games. 8 should be challenging. Maybe 5 or 6 power conference teams. 2-3 high majors or mid majors. Gonzaga, BYU, Wichita State, San Diego State, Western Kentucky is looking like they'll start being good with their recruiting picking up, Dayton. Would like to see some stuff with some regional teams but also go play out some more. That's when you pick up a few neutral site games. If we like to recruit the East and Northeast then start getting games on the East coast. We would all love to have home and homes for everything but it just isn't what people will agree to at the moment.

I agree with most of this, but we shouldn't have to be challenged in 8 OOC games. I think we should have about 3 top 25 games, a game in RPI 25-50. And 2 games RPI 50-100. Then 6 games where we have to win, but the RPI should never be above 300.

Why should we not be challenged in 8? I don't get this perception of only challenging yourself half the time. An incredibly strong schedule is always rewarded when it comes to seeding.

I know the B1G is always tough, especially on the road, but this schedule seems to be well balanced in terms or road and home games and only a couple of tough stretches.

Four of the last five on the road? That's a tough schedule, but at least we don't have to go to East Lansing.

Four of the first five at home... Get the boys plenty of confidence and make everybody else play uphill to catch us!

I don't see any really tough 3 game (or more) stretches so this makes me feel really good about or chance to defend the crown.

33% of #iubb's home B1G schedule will be played over winter break without students in town. That's brutal.@chronichoosier

Against the likes of Nebraska, Illinois, and Wisconsin. The first two are very beatable without students. Wisconsin on the other hand, the students could make that game a bit easier but I still like our chances.
