"Indiana makes the cut for a pair of 2016 prospects"

Recommended Posts

The execution of this post leaves a bit to be desired, but the idea behind it is interesting. CBB is essentially a stepping stone for kids with elite basketball talent to get publicity and build their personal brand for the NBA draft. How much can they really learn in one year of college ball? Are they really honing their skills? They do usually get better IMO because they have access to better facilities/coaching and more structure in place and they're playing against a higher talent level than they did in high school.

Everyone claims kids are becoming divas. Is that a product of AAU? Has it always been like this but social media just calls more attention to it? The answer in my opinion probably lays somewhere in the middle.

I'm responding to the irony of this headline. I recall times when the player wanted to make the cut. "One-and-Done," mercenary, basketball however has changed the collegiate mindset, forever.

Still don't know what you mean.

He's saying it should be the player wanting to be picked by the school rather than the school wanting to be picked by the player.

oh. Well kids don't commit to schools. They commit to coaches.

He means it's "Indiana makes the cut"

rather than

"Davis and Alkins make the cut and are still among Indiana's targets

for their 2016 class. Unfortunately, x, y and z are no longer sought by the Hoosiers"

When was it like that exactly?
