Will be addition by subtraction for Nebraska.

Probably, but his was an unfortunate situation. He had found out his mother's cancer had come back at some point during, or right before the season. It apparently caused him some mental instability over the course of the year that in turn caused some internal team problems.

Hadn't heard that. That's very unfortunate and I can't imagine how tough it would be. Wish him nothing but the best. I think he will make a solid role player in the NBA, just don't think his style was what they needed this year to win.

Yeah agree. Strictly basketball wise, he was too much of a chucker for that team to succeed.

Yep, they needed him to make plays for everyone and instead he really just scored.

He'll probably be a D-League guy, or have to play overseas. Dude isn't even on the radar for the league

I think that has a lot to do with Nebraska underperforming and him being the go to guy on their team. I just think when he's put into a role to do what he does best and not have to create for everyone else then he will succeed. He's got everything it takes and was on the radar for the majority of the year.

@TheRecruitScoop: Syracuse transfer Ron Patterson has committed to IUPUI. Look for him to pursue a hardship waiver to play immediately.

Wow. IU to Syracuse to IUPUI

Well he won't get the waiver. Those don't exist anymore as far as I know.

On a different thread, Bryan Medema in regards to freeing up a scholy for Bryan said  "The only realistic/sensible departures are Priller and April. If both leave we know what that means...   I think there is a wild card in Devin Davis.  The true extent of his injuries has been very closely guarded as well they should be.  As much as we all want to know, frankly, it's none of our damn business!!  We have absolutely no idea what the doctors are telling DD and his family with respect to WHEN and IF he can resume playing competitive basketball.  What if he's not cleared to play for next season or perhaps not until the second semester?  Do we hold his scholarship?  Could he give up his scholarship for a season and then if fully cleared to play in 2016-2017, he goes back on scholarship?  I truly want to see him back in candy stripes but there is still much uncertainty surrounding DD's health and the implications it could have on next season's roster?

I think there was a similar case with Creek a few years back where in this scenario, Davis stays on scholarship though it wouldn't count towards the scholarship limit.

If he cannot play next year you still honor the scholarship ala Austin Hatch at UM. They honored his scholly well before they knew if he would ever play again.

There was extenuating circumstances with his case.
