Chris Reynolds named Bradley AD

PEORIA – Chris Reynolds, a native Peorian and currently the deputy athletic director at Northwestern University, will be named director of athletics at Bradley as soon as Tuesday, multiple sources have told the Journal Star.

 

Reynolds, who led Peoria High School to a Class 2A runner-up finish in the 1989 state tournament and helped win two Big Ten titles at Indiana under coach Bob Knight, previously held athletics administration positions at Indiana, Notre Dame, Michigan State and Western Michigan.

 

He’s been at Northwestern for the past 15 months, serving on the athletic director’s executive staff and holding direct responsibility for the planning and management of Recreation, Equipment Operations and the Facilities and Event Management units.

 

Last year, he hired and provides oversight for the first-ever staff member whose responsibility is to manage and enhance the Northwestern fan experience. Also, Reynolds has sports administration duties for men’s and women’s tennis and volleyball.

 

Prior to arriving in Evanston, Reynolds spent nine years at his alma mater in Bloomington, Ind., eight of them as a senior associate AD. He served as a sport administrator for men’s basketball and multiple Olympic sports. He also handled legal work within the department.

Anybody remember his senior year at Illinois, he was wide open on a break and went up for a dunk?  He missed it.  Then on Senior Night he mentioned that missed dunk and said he'd get it right this time.  Calbert Cheaney put Reynolds on his shoulders and "assisted" on the dunk.   :biggrin:

Great for Chris. I remember RMK was going to redshirt him his junior year until we got blitzed by UCLA in the first or second game of the year. That was the end of that idea.
