Indiana vs Ohio State - Post Game Thread

RJ hasnt looked himself the last couple games. Have I missed something? Is he injured?

injured this game in the first two minutes. I think we're seeing a good freshman taking his freshman lumps. He's still contributing nicely, just not as loudly as he did during non-con.

2-1 in this four game stretch. Tough game coming up against Purdue, and then we have two very winnable games at home, and two monsters on the road at Wis and MD. Guys are going to learn and grow a lot from this game and the next 5.

I thought 2-2 would be huge during this stretch and we can still go 3-1. Will need much better effort though.

As bad as we all feel right now----all of our goals are all still within reach.

We are in the toughest stretch of our schedule and we will be alright.

Big Ten road wins against any teams are hard to get----let alone a good team like O$U.

On to the next!

We got real stagnant the first 10 minutes of the second half. Lost the game then.

The problem with being a transition team is that you need stops to get out and run, and we just couldn't do it. Between the turnovers and not getting stops', it completely took us out of our flow.

The encouraging thing was that with just a few stops down the stretch, we were still in the game.

The 4 statues offense made it's return, as did the turnovers.  Not easy to watch.  And what's this "defense" people speak of?

That was the frustrating part for me. We got it down to 6 and just needed a couple stops to be back in it and couldnt get it done.

I wish we could bottle the intensity and effort we play with at home and take that on the road with us---especially on the defensive end.

Hartman and Yogi seem to be the ones we can count on to bring that "give up the body effort" night after night.

Hopefully--that will start being followed by some of the others.

Everybody should have it for the Purdue game!

Non existent defensive effort. Nobody could check Russell on D end. NOBODY! Little blocking out. Just a piss poor defensive effort.

No shock though, saw this one coming miles ahead. A Purdue loss will hurt much more and unfortunately I think it's going to happen.

Boilers are coming off a big win over Iowa. If Crean can get these guys to focus on the defensive end we have a chance.

I do agree that I never felt we were out of it either----just a few stops away from making this tight at the end which is all you can ask for on the road against a good team.

In other words----we still have work to do---but we can make the improvements and adjustments needed to win these types of games in the future.

Great assessment BGleas---we never really got our fast break going today and that hurt us. I agree with you that the reason for lack of fast breaks was the inability to get stops or steals.

Jae'sean Tate loves playing IU. Dude is a frosh, semi unheralded and just balls out against us. He averages 6/4 but against IU he is a superstar. Exposes our weakness as an average Frosh. Discouraging.

Kids only 6'4" and Amir Williams didnt play and I'm not sure about AntLee.

Bright side----if you tell me before the game we will shoot over 50% against OSU----and approximately 60% from 3 against them and outrebound them----it would have surprised me that we lost by double digits.

This was not like the MSU beatdown----there were a lot of IU positives in this one.

We just couldn't stop them on defense----a lot like Maryland's performance against us a few days ago.  They shot well on the road and still got blitzed by us;

That's life on the road in the Big Ten-----flush it-----and let's get ready for Purdue in 3 days.
