Crean has done a great job with this team, and his 4 out 1 in line-up is putting up huge offensive numbers. I think Williams is a perfect complement to JBJ, Yogi, and Rojo, and Mosquera-Perea has shown that he is capable of being a serviceable big if not a pretty good one (His boards against Nebraska were IMPRESSIVE)... Consistency is key for him though, he has to find it! Obviously you can tell I am a Crean fan from my username, but I think he is really doing a great job of coaching this team right now!

I agree that he has the players that suit his system really well. Very fun and exciting team to watch. I just wish Tom's teams was better at defense. Too often he rely's on offense to win games. It's like "Yes, we scored 90 points against the best team in the nation!... And no one else came close to 90!, Aaand we lost by 12."

I was starting to fall off the fence but with the butler, Nebraska and most of the Georgetown game, I'm starting to feel better about Crean again.

We wanted to see improvement and look how much the rebounding has turned around now. I would say without a doubt the team knows that their defense is rough and the majority of the practice is being focused on rebounding and defensive action.

The turnovers are way down. The rebounding is there now. The offense is just rolling. Now let's start becoming an average defensive team at least and we will make noise. Maybe not an elite 8 but a nice season to build off of with no one of grand stature leaving.

Crean really harps on Hanner being consistent. Even Hanner himself says so in post game interviews. Boy, if he could make his last performance in Lincoln a consistent thing... Watch out!

If Hanner can be a serious force and have double doubles or close through the rest of the year, Crean will deserve a big pat on the back and an ICY cold one. What a turnaround that would be from the start of this season.

I've never really been on his bandwagon...and I've never really wanted to set his wagon on fire. I do want a consistent winner that does it the right way.

The first 2-3 years of his tenure he gets a pass because of the mess he inherited. The next two years with Zeller and Vic I think he did well but not fantastic. It's all great to be ranked #1 but there are no trophies given for rankings only for winning tournaments. The second year of that era we flamed out a lot earlier than we should have in my opinion. Last year was not good. This year is still happening so it cannot really be judged yet. I will say that I have been encouraged by some of what I've seen this year.

People can grow, change, and learn. I'm hoping Crean is doing that some this year. I've wondered if maybe Crean didn't get caught up a little in people saying that if he was going to succeed he had to do it by recruiting a certain type of player and by playing a certain type of way. Maybe he got away from his convictions a little. To be honest, I'm not sure this 4-out 1-in will work but if it's what he believes in...then he has to go with it! Defensively I think it leaves a team vulnerable but it can definitely be entertaining on the offensive end. The is more than one way to skin a cat though and if this is his method of skinning...and it works...bring it on!I wanna win and do it the right way!

The W's are obviously important for a coach----but I agree with jonz44---that winning the right way is important as well.

I like what Crean has done to improve grades/graduation rates/the following of NCAA rules/and his making community service--- like we just heard about with the kids at new years--- a priority.

He's a relentless recruiter----but does it the right way instead of using the UK method ($$$ and cars).

And all the stories we have heard about----from not being afraid to share his faith----to stopping to help the college student stranded in a ditch in the middle of a snow storm after midnight----to being there for Devin Davis and his family at the hospital.

Crean's not just a good Coach---he's an even better person----and that counts for something in my book!
