Troy Williams player of the week per Andy Katz

Recommended Posts

Congratulations, Troy. Please continue to play well and make me eat my words in the process. Crow has never tasted so good.

I was just reflecting on my statement hoping Stan takes Troy with him if he leaves. Looking back, it was a jacka$$ comment to wish that on the kid. I hope the improvements we saw against Butler are indicative of his future here.

I just hope Troy continues to play like that.  He can't do that every two to three games.  We need that Troy every single night.  I'm pulling for him to play like that consistently.  If he does great.  If he doesn't and he remains inconsistent, then I'll be leaving some of that crow on the plate.

If Troy can sustain his past 2 games performance for the balance of the season then I'm confident we'll be in the big dance.  But as for Stan, he's still to erratic and I'm not sure he doesn't need a change of scenery.

This right here is why I like it at BTown...you can admit that you made a bad statement about someone, this is really showing of good character. I will be joining with you in the crow eating on Troy, but I'll keep the trash can handy if the crow starts to come back up.

Troy can b great for us but has to play within himself and he will b fine. I dont like if he makes a basket he automatic is looking the next time down. I like a aggressive player with confidence but has to see the defense and take what he can get if him and stan for that matter learn that they will b great but troy has a much higher ceiling than stan and I see him getting it figured out

I honestly felt that he still put up a lot of crazy shots like he does every game. The difference is the last few games they have been falling. I squirm in my seat every time Troy starts taking off on a fast break. He still has trouble finishing but Ive really liked what Ive seen the last few games. If he can keep getting them to fall, then everything looks good

Scored, rebounded, got assists, played in control and not selfish and got named POW by Katz.  Troy might be thinking "ya know what Troy, maybe CTC knows what he's taking about"....Lets home this sank in to Troy.  So much potential!  Would love to see him be a lottery pick next year!

Could we make it in 2 years?  If he improves that much, I'd like to have him stick around for another year.

I think his role changed between Canada and his first fee games when he came back. In Canada he played more like he did vs Butler, attacking more from the perimeter. The few games after he came back he was playing almost exclusively from the baseline. I suspect that change is partially due to how Rob and JBj started and the loss of DD.

The last few games he seems to have moved somewhat back to the perimeter at times and against Butler things really dropped for him.

I think he is going to be needed this year to have a good year. JBj and Rob are going to have freshman games like yesterday and we need another confident guy attacking the defense.

You guys weren't alone. I think we all were thinking/saying the same thing. Ill take a second serving of crow as long as he keeps this up.
