Gregg Doyel Talks with Joani Crean...

Recommended Posts

Doesn't anyone else agree that this endless carping about Crean and speculation about who will be the coach next year can have a negative effect on this year's team? We aren't even into the conference season yet; we have some good wins; the team is showing signs of serious improvement. Sounds like time for some support instead of damnation to me.

Careful, this kind of comment will unleash the crticism of Crean haters on you.

I'm all for finding the next legendary coach to lead us to the championship, but publicly calling for Crean's head every step of the way will only hurt the public's, mainly recruit's, opinion on the stability of the program. That's not good for anyone.

Let the donors with the money to make he change happen complain, because they can act on their complaints. I want outsiders to see that Hoosier Nation is alive and well, and we believe in the personnel we have. That's the most fans can do to help a team, just provide support. This team, and Crean, have definitely earned our support this season. They're really starting to show the fight and resolve needed to win.

Can it have a negative impact on this year's team? Probably. Though it is just as likely to have a positive impact. There is no way to stop the complaining. It is par for the course now days.

I also think that anyone who does complain would argue that they support IU 110% that is why they are complaining.

Me personally, I am not happy with the results Crean has had the last two years, nor am I happy with his lack of discipline last year and this year, but I know that any decisions are out of my control; so I try not to worry about it, and just hope this team does better than I think they will.

IMO I am fairly neutral on this subject but have seen with recruits and players the effect coddling has on our team. I think that is far more negative and has strengthened the noise.

I think 90% of us would be happy to land Stevens at some point, but that move by Doyle is just totally uncalled for. Timing was atrocious! What a ******.

I would kick Crean to the curb so fast it'd make your head spin, walk to Boston and bring Stevens back in a wheelbarrow, then do cartwheels down Kirkwood Avenue if we could get him but yeah no need to do what Doyle did.

This Doyel fella really doesn't like Crean. That article he wrote after bong-gate was so scathing it could have been written by SCHoosier

ibsont think he likes any sports team he just tries to be critical every single situation possible and comes off douchey in every article he writes

2 days later---and it's still classless!

If you are going to ask a stupid question like that-----ask Coach and not his wife.

What's next---ambushing one of Crean's kids after school to see what they think?

Low ---and should be off limits and out of bounds for any reputable journalist!
