Anunoby and Morgan

Recommended Posts

So I haven't necessarily gave up on this year, but after the loss last night I have been looking at these guys seeing if they can hop in and make a difference. (Thinking out loud) So let's say Troy drives on Hammons and Hartman is in the game for Perea, Troy has no one to go to, and Hammons puts everything he has on him. Troy is then forced to take a bad shot that possibly gets blocked or kick it out. Now let's fast forward to 2015-16 class: Troy has Morgan or Anunoby (they can actually catch a ball with confidence) to lob it or pass it around to. Both can also shoot threes. This automatically makes them more versatile and a must have on the floor. Y'all may think "What if O.G. Is not ready" well he can already dribble more under control than Troy and is a scorer. By no means he is better than Troy, I'm just pointing that out. Also he would increase the height on the floor and would be someone to watch. As for Morgan he is impressive but I feel Crean will slap him in the center and it may not go too well. It would be ideal if he had a little more length but he doesn't. So Morgan may just be another undersized guy who can't stop someone. Hopefully I'm wrong. These guys have a lot of potential and may make Crean think twice about who should play. But we still will need a center if we want to be unstoppable. Just thinking out loud for the most part so hopefully y'all can get what I'm trying to say.

These guys may be good in a couple years. Wouldnt expect much impact from them next year unless another major roster turn over.

I would agree with you but Morgan should be better than Holt and Holt has been logging some minutes as a 6'7 three star player at a spot he is not necessarily ready for or used to.

From IndyStar interview:

What do you think you'll have to offer Indiana next year? What impact can you bring?

Mainly the garbage things that nobody really likes to do -- setting screens, offensive boards, diving after balls, hustle plays, getting back on defense. Just getting in there and working.

Sounds like he is willing to fit in.

So is Tommy going to let OG wear a sweatband?

Man I don't remember the last time I actually heard it called a "sweatband" hahah

But no, I don't see OG using a "sweatband" when he comes here. Lots of players we have used to use headbands, arm sleeves, arm bands, etc and don't anymore. I personally don't think its that big of a deal that the IU program wants some sort of unity and uniformity. Plus I'm pretty sure it has been addressed that they are too many factors involved to let players do so. Everything has to be matching, etc.
