Great stats for the last 3 years

This is weak if I've ever seen weak. You're actually trying to lessen the validity of a B1G Championship. Plus, the way we won it was storybook. We walked into Michigan and took it. It was an incredible game.

We can all recognize Crean's faults and failures as a coach, but some of you don't want to acknowledge the fact that he is the most successful coach IU has had in about 20 years, including Knight's final decade at the helm.

Everyone who has said that he is responsible for what has happened this past year because he recruited and coaches these players. He also recruited and developed the players that brought this program back into a respectable position in 2012 and 2013.

He has been highly disappointing as a coach this past season, but let's not try to discredit what he has done right.

I dont want to get off topic and have a back and forth. I will say that yes I feel that winning the big outright that year was a bare minimum and no I was not impressed. I dont really care about big titles to much it what u do the few weeks after I care about. I will say thank god we won it cause take that away and what a wasted season. I am sure u disagree but lets move on its game day and crean has another shot this season to get something done

For me, the bottom line is we as IU, have won 1 B1G title in these 6 years. I am unsure about you all, but, I sure would prefer more. At least, to contend for them more often.

Let's build that out a bit: from 1994-2014, 20 years, we have won the B1G outright twice. That's not good.

It's not a dismissal of winning the B1G. I just want to compete for more. The year we won, was the only season in many that we were top 5.

I look at it this way, need to crawl before you walk.  We need to compete for the B1G on a more consistent basis before we can even worry about competing for Final Fours and banners.  Winning the conference, to me, means we have a team that is capable of competing for more.  Whether they actually do it or not, I go back to my crap-shoot comment.

So, it isn't so much that we have only won the conference 1 time in 6 years.  It is the fact that we have only even been in contention for the conference title once in that time-span.

I would add, what does the last 6 years have to do with anything unless building an argument that Crean isn't living up to pay on the court? There is no way u can hold those first 3 years again Crean.

To me, we have hung a conference banner 1 out of the last 3 years. The one we hung was against a great Michigan team and we did it in their house. But none of that impressed you Coon? With all due respect, u are setting yourself up for a lifetime of disappointment if u think everything is garbage except for a championship banner. I don't want to put words in your mouth but that is what it looks like from my couch. We have a respectable winning % as a program now that Crean has completed the rebuild. Now his testes are on the table in his "fourth" year and that is a good thing for him and everyone else. If he overcomes these recent setbacks as a coach then kudos to Tom and he will gain more loyalty from me..

Back on topic though, the offense certainly looks promising again on paper. We all get another glimpse of the lineup today again Indy. Can't wait.

To add to this, that Michigan team we swept were NCAA runner-ups.

You may want to take a look at Knight's last 10 years here:  3 Sweet 16s, 2 Elite 8s, 1 Final four, 2 conference titles (yes 2, a shared counts the same as outright), and we were top half of the conference and in the tourney every season.

You'd be more accurate saying Knight's last 5 years, but we were still top half of the conference and in the tourney each of those seasons which is still a better baseline than Crean's seen in his entire career.

That team also had 5 future first round NBA picks in their rotation (Burke, Hardaway Jr, Stauskas, Robinson III & McGary), six on the entire roster if LaVert ends up one this year.

Not to rehash the debate, but the idea that IU was heads and shoulders the most talented team in the Big Ten that year is a false one.

To add to this, that Michigan team we swept were NCAA runner-ups.
