Curbelo will win them a lot of games however his refusal to pass the ball on drives is probably going to cost them some games. Especially in March Yeah, he’s an enigma. That said, I wouldn’t read too much into a loss without Cockburn. Hoosierfanyuh and lillurk 2 Quote
Uspshoosier Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Belmont/Furman in OT. Internet is down my feed is froze. Not happy Quote
woodenshoemanHoosierfan Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Curbelo is single-handedly trying to lose the game for Illinois. He is 4-17 with a ton of turnovers. Mean while Frazier has hit 6 threes but curbelo refuses to get him the ball . 66-65 Illinois with 2 to go Told my wife the same thingSent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk IUc2016 1 Quote

Not happy Belmont wins it in OT and I’m back up and running. Really good mid major teams need to schedule these type of games if they have any chance of getting an at-large bid. More need to do this HoosierAloha 1 Quote

IUc2016 Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Wisconsin is bad. I’m sure IU will still lose to them, but they are really bad. Deserthoozier and Stuhoo 2 Quote

Stuhoo Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Wisconsin with only 23 at the half. They have zero inside scoring options. The Great Andre Curbelo’s stat line? 4-18 fg, 7 turnovers Quote

Agreed, my case for modest Illinois skepticism this year is they’re too dependent on Curbelo, who can’t shoot even when the other stuff is working. And Kofi, for all his positive contributions, is also not a shooter outside six feet. As we know from watching Archie teams, it’s hard to win when your best players can’t shoot. Still think UI is a top 20 team, just probably not top 10. Quote

I think IU’s alright, but if Illinois, OSU, Maryland, and MSU aren’t as good as we thought, and Nebraska hasn’t taken a leap, and UMass thumped PSU, and Wisconsin…anyway, some of these results are just bad games. But in other cases… thebigweave 1 Quote
IUc2016 Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Not a good night for the big ten. Illinois loses to Marquette, Penn state loses by 25 to UMASS, and Wisconsin down 11 at half on their home floor to providence. Quote
