If anyone cares about our incredibly small chances of getting an NIT bid, there are three conference tourney finals involving #1 seeds on tonight at 7 p.m.

Northeast Tournament final: #1 Wagner vs. #4 LIU-Brooklyn

Colonial Tournament final: #1 College of Charleston vs. #2 Northeastern

Summit League final: #1 South Dakota State vs. #2 South Dakota

Game of the night could be starting on espn2 South Dakota vs South Dakota St for the Summit title. Both have at least 26 wins

I really want State to win this, Daum is a pleasure to watch and could easily lead them to an upset.

Since I have no life and would still like to see us avoid the embarrassment of missing the NIT, I've been monitoring what needs to happen for us to still make the Not-Quite-Good-Enough field of 32. With Wagner losing this evening, only one more #1 seed can go down, and there are still 13 top seeds out there with conference tourney games to play. In other words, it's a long shot...which we already knew.

If anyone would like to join me in rooting for these underprivileged, disadvantaged, limited resource mid-majors to make the NCAA tournament so our much more privileged, prestigious, financially-gifted program can qualify for the sloppy-seconds tournament, here's what needs to happen:

America East: #1 Vermont needs one more win. They play UMBC in the final on Saturday.

Big Sky: #1 Montana needs 3 more wins. They play North Dakota in the quarterfinals tomorrow.

Big West: #1 UC-Davis needs 3 more wins. They play UC-Riverside Thursday.

Conference USA: #1 Middle Tennessee needs 3 more wins. They play FIU/So. Miss Friday.

Ivy: #1 Harvard needs 2 wins. They play Cornell in the semifinals Saturday.

MAC: #1 Buffalo needs 3 more wins. They play Central Michigan in the quarterfinals Thursday.

MEAC: #1 Hampton needs 3 more wins. They play Florida A&M in the quarterfinals tomorrow.

Mountain West: #1 Nevada needs 3 more wins. They play UNLV/Air Force in the quarterfinals Thursday.

Patriot: #1 Bucknell needs 1 more win. They play Colgate in the championship game tomorrow.

Southland: #1 SE-Louisiana needs 2 wins. They received a bye to the semifinals Friday.

Sun Belt: #1 Louisiana needs 3 more wins. They play Coastal Carolina/Texas State in the quarterfinals Friday.

*SWAC: #1 Arkansas Pine-Bluff needs 2 more wins. They play Southern U. in the semifinals Friday.

WAC: #1 New Mexico State needs 3 more wins. They play Chicago State in the quarterfinals Thursday.

(*The SWAC is an interesting case. Pine-Bluff is the top seed here because Grambling State is ineligible for postseason play. The 2 and 3 seeds in this conference are significantly higher than Pine-Bluff in kenpom. Not sure if Pine-Bluff would still get an auto-bid or not)

We just need all of that to happen and we're danc- er, I mean, limping, baby!

Going to ask a dumb question here. When did the Ivy league start having tournament? I am not that much of an Ivy League enthusiast so this passed me by.
