Can't schools provide up to a $3,000 per month "stipend" for athletes? Maybe he was getting $$ for housing as well? If he was a walkon couldn't he "work" for the university as well?

There are many different ways money could go into his account, legally.

Around $3,000 per year. This article says between $2,000 and $5,000. It varies from school to school depending on the cost of living there. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/money/2015/09/04/news/companies/extra-cash-college-athletes/index.html

From what I understand the amount they get for rent is equal to what room/board is on-campus. At IU it's around $10,000 for the year. I'm sure they save some of that money by living together but I'm not seeing a way that they're pocketing the kind of money Dakich is talking about.

The "Way" is, don't trust the rules when it comes to NCAABB.

Rules are meant to be bent and broken. It's not the same from one university to another. Or one sport to another.

I don't doubt that schools find ways around the rules, but if that's what he's talking about it seems dumb to broadcast publicly imo.

I wonder how he felt about the white kid who was the leading scorer of the team, leader in FG%, 2nd in rebounding. And scored 17 points while going 7 for 11 from the field against U.K.
