They could... And they couldn't. Big Ten got a little overrated early. Have come back to earth pretty hard.

Still 8 teams in the top 44 of NET, and that doesn't include Michigan State which likely would be a tournament bid right now due to schedule.

Big Ten might only be like a 6 bid conference.

Depends on who beats who within the conference but 6 is probably the floor while 9 would be the ceiling.    Since they did so well during the non conference despite if people think they overachieved during that stretch those wins will give the B1G extra teams in March.   Lowest B1G has had in awhile would have been Archie’s first year when only 4 teams made it.   Nebraska finished 13-5 in conference but got left out.   Unbalanced scheduling had them feasting on the lower half and only had 1 win against the top 4

I'd say 6-7 would fit well. Not that says the Big Ten is definitively better than the ACC or SEC. But it could help that the Pac12 and Big East really struggled.

Yeah, the non-conference matchups pretty much set the floor and ceiling and who beats who in conference determines if it is closer to floor or ceiling.  Evertyhing I've seen has the Big Ten as the #2 conference so I would think getting just 6 teams would be the result of just unlucky combinations of wins and losses in conference.

A-10 was supposed to have multiple bids and they really struggled and is a 1 bid league.   That means a power conference is going to benefit and that league will be the B1G, big East or big 12

MVC looks to be a one bid league this year as well

Mountain West is weird.  Wyoming has been one of the worst two in the conference and they looked like a lock for the tournament before the year started.  Once Ike gets back from injury, though, they are likely going to start knocking some teams off.  Teams like Nevada and UNLV, though, I don't expect will their non-conference play up and are going to start losing.
