HoosierAloha Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 HAVE YOU SEEN THESE? #ADIDASSent from my iPhone using BtownBannersThe IU baseball unis are pretty sick. I've looked online to try and find a few. I do like that IU is trying to do the Oregon thing with a ton of flash in the football uniforms. The best though... LIHoosier 1 Quote
HoosierAloha Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 I've always thought IU needed an enforcer type player. Sheehey played his role perfectly on the 2011-2013 teams. I'm not sure there's a player on the current roster like that though. Maybe a McSwain or Davis? I would say Bryabt is protective of his teammates but wouldn't go out of his way to send a message, nor should he. JMo seems too laid back. I guess we'll have to wait and see if a player plays that role this upcoming season. That's terrible for UNC that he stayed so long it probably hurt their recruiting. He probably enjoyed those fake classes a lot. Quote

HoosierTrav Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Designers. Awesome. But that doesn't help when you're losing contacts. You lose the NBA and gain the NHL. That is what Adidas has done recently. They've gained James Harden... but lost Dwight Howard, Wisconsin and one of the biggest brands in all of sports in Michigan. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile appThey have to start somewhere. Dolce was widely considered Nike's top designer. This is big whether it fits your narrative or not. And it's not just that they hired designers. The corporate headquarters has FINALLY done something that they haven't in their entire history. That's allow US headquarters to handle US market strategy completely on their own. Yes they are losing some contracts but they will be fine. Adidas has immense resources and will be just fine with the correct focus on the US. It's ok to pull the reigns back and admit you may be jumping the gun. There is nobility in that. It makes you look really argumentative when you say that "Adidas doesn't understand US trends." Then follow that up with "Designers. Awesome." What do you think design teams are for? bhaggard89 Posted August 19, 2016 Posted August 19, 2016 Those baseball uniforms are gross. And baseball should literally have zero say in anything considering they don't make money. Football and men's basketball is the only thing that should have a say. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile appYou don't like anything, do you? NoahW35 Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Go to several IU baseball games and you will notice that IU always has nicer uniforms than their opponent. Adidas does a great Job with the baseball uniforms. The ones pictured above are 'throwback' uniforms that are only worn once or twice per year. The normal uniforms are red with white trim and a white-script Indiana lettering and white pants with red trim. The IU soccer jerseys are awesome, and I'm also a fan of the football jerseys.I would be in favor of a slight altercation to the basketball jerseys but I know I'm in the minority there. Overall I think Adidas does a pretty good job of outfitting IU athletes. The main problem with Adidas is that it's not enticing to most potential recruits. Also the fan gear Adidas puts out mostly sucks ALASKA HOOSIER and bhaggard89 2 Quote

What value is there in changing? Are we really going to snag another recruit because the uni's are "updated"? I just don't see that making a difference. Just curious. It won't hurt anyone. People aren't going to stop watching. Some nice, new, fresh uni's would be nice and retire the current look. We would just have to pray that Adidas could come up with something nice and something that no one else will have. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

To be they honestly haven't meant anything in my lifetime. They are from a time before me. Freshmen coming in were born in like 97' or 98'. Probably should have been retired a long time ago. So that these style are remembered for a time of titles rather than mediocrity. You say "tradition" but kids now see what has happened in their lifetime. Robert Johnson is a great example. He had ZERO clue about Indiana's "tradition" before going on campus. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say a recruit hasn't chosen a school based on how a jersey looks. One would hope they will choose a destination based on the best basketball decision and not on how w jersey looks. If someone was more worried about how a jersey looks or concerned with what shoes someone should wear I suggest listening to this kidSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners IUsafety, hsrtxp, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 4 Quote

X-Hoosier Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 We now have stars on the shorts. I don't think UA does anything special. I think their jerseys just fit differently. JSHoosier Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Our uniforms set us apart, they're different from what you see today. There's nothing wrong with that. I'm on board with an alternate that's used a coupe times a year for something different or minor changes to the current uniform, but I don't want our uniforms to look like everything else you see ala the Nike sweat stain. Indiana basketball hasn't been anything special on the court in 20 something years, that doesn't meant the uniforms have to change just to change. If they made an on court difference I could see the argument, but they don't. HoosierAloha, hsrtxp and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote
