I understand where you're coming from but the RPI system is completely outdated. UNLV is much better than Penn State according to KenPom, which IMO is a much better way of evaluating teams. Penn State's talent level is nowhere near UNLV's. While both are bad losses, I am absolutely willing to say that Wake Forest is our worst loss because I do agree with your neutral court argument and Wake Forest is the worst KenPom team we have lost to.

until the committee comes out and say it is outdated and stop using it the ken Pom argument will not hold any water. While I might agree with you about ken Pom the committee still weighs heavily in favor of rpi. So when i review resumes I use the same as the committee will use. I wish they did use kenpom because as of today iu would have 4 top 51 wins which is better then their 1 top 50 rpi wins

Really good is a strong word I think. They're certainly better than PSU, but they are getting artificial bumps from the data. Watching them play, I think they are getting overhyped based on their extremely weak conference schedule so far and a couple of good wins in November.

Same thing people say about us, except the weak part of our conference schedule included 6 top-100 games which we won 4 of and the strong part of our schedule contains 5 top-25 teams.

Dayton has played 2 top-100 conference games, has 3 top-100 and 2 top 50 remaining.

At least some team seeded lower than they should be will have an easier game than they expect during the tourney.

they have flaws like every team. I agree as of late watching them play they haven't been as strong but earlier in the year in the non conference they looked impressive winning the advocare invitational. I would put them in the same category as iu. If we played them on a neutral court I would expect us to win. The tournament this year is going to be a hell of ride even more then it usually is. No my opinion there will not be much difference between teams that will be seeded 4 through 12. We still have a chance to get a high seed or we have a chance to keep falling down the seed line. Whicita st is going to get a worst seed then they deserve I feel for the higher seed who draws them

all systems have their flaws. I wish they did use kenpom because we have 4 top 51 wins compared to 1 rpi top 50 win. Ken Pom has creighton as the 45th best team. Maybe they are but I don't think they are. Ken Pom has Vanderbilt at 36 with a 13-10 record. On the flip side Chattanooga has a rpi of 36th. Are they the 36th best team? Probably not they have 1 top 50 win (2 too 100) and 2 losses to rpi +150 teams. I personally use both and use my own eyeballs when reviewing teams. I'm a bracketology nerd

Maryland is playing Bowie State tomorrow. How is it ok for the #2 team in the country to play a DII team in the middle of the season? Is it an exhibition or something?

We did the same thing a few years ago (Cody era) when we had a gap. I think we played a D1 school; though a very sweet cupcake. However MD plays, it won't count against their stats since Bowie isn't D1.

As a reminder, here's our next opponent losing at home to a D2 school. How quickly 3 months can fly by....

Dayton barely pulls it out against 128th ranked Dusquesne at home, trailing most of the game, tying it up with 1 minute left and going on to win by two.

Which, I'm just saying, is all I'm saying.

still won. They had a stretch in 2nd half where they trailed. They were down 12 with under 4 to go and went on a big run. Good teams find a way to win close games. Jon agrees with me

@jonrothstein
Dayton comes back from 10 down in the second half to beat Duquesne by two. Flyers are special. The best team that no one is talking about.
