JuwantGrimeShakes? Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Interesting half. Put Covington right back into pass. Read it as a monkey off his back that he made his first interception. If we don't make them respect the pass, they'll lock down the run D. And no, losing this game doesn't mean we are out of the bowl picture, its just harder. Quit thinking like losers and counting games not played as losses. I'm not thinking like a loser. I'm looking at the schedule and taking a realistic approach to the remaining games. I don't think we can piece together 3 wins with the remaining games. I mean, after we lost to Nebraska on March 5th in Basketball last year didn't mean we were out of the Tourney picture. It was just harder (a significant run in the Big Ten Tourney). But, let's face it. Anyone who said we were going to be playing in anything better than the NIT at that point was insane. Michigan and Purdue are potential wins. But, Michigan State? Ohio State? Those games will be extremely tough. Penn State and Rutgers are no slouches this season either. Any Given Saturday I guess. Hovadipo Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Zander came here to play football. I say its time he did just that!! Agree, my man. Give him some PT, because I don't see anyone getting much when Touchdown Tomcat gets here. (I trademark that nickname) Napleshoosier 1 Quote
TheWatShot Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Even if we lose, I want to see some fight in the second half. Don't quit and let Iowa score 60+. Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Man this is painful. Convington just doesn't know what to do out there. Quote
JSHoosier Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 To paraphrase Forrest Gump; this team is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
Naturalhoosier Posted October 11, 2014 Author Posted October 11, 2014 Wow Covington looked scared in that last drive. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
JuwantGrimeShakes? Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 That penalty is bad play. That isn't an accident or an acceptable penalty. You're handing them a first down because you can't play your position. Quote
Hovadipo Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Can't see downfield on TV, so I can't tell if Covington is scared to throw or no one is open. This is tough to watch, friends. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
ThompsonHoosier Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Is Covington the best QB option we have right now? Wish we would give Diamont or Boudreau a chance. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote
JuwantGrimeShakes? Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Is Covington the best QB option we have right now? Wish we would give Diamont or Boudreau a chance. Didn't Tevin used to be Quarterback in high school? Or am I thinking of someone else? Hyde? Gore? I swear I heard this fact trotted out about an RB recently. Just like that Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty. That's just stupid. Where is the coach on that? Quote
bronkonagurski Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 To be such an offense-oriented program, how can you be 5 years in and not have a backup QB capable of consistently passing the ball. Perhaps the defection of Tre Roberson caught the staff by surprise but still...do we not have a single guy on the roster who can actually pass? Covington has been thrown to the wolves here. 87ashtonhoosier Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 The saddest thing about Wilson's tenure is having to listen to Buck and Don have to make excuses for Wilson's failures. There was a time when Don Fischer was able to call it like it was. Wilson hasn't made a difference with the 'new' defense, and his offense is weak against big time opponents. Sudfeld hasn't been proficient at passing, his absence shouldn't be as impactful as it's been as we have been touting the Hoosier running game. I fear that Wilson's play calls are becoming so predictable that opponents are reading them as easily as our offense. Time for Wilson to say GOODBYE! Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 What if we just have Crean and Wilson switch jobs for a year? See if that helps Quote

87ashtonhoosier Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 At least we wouldn't have to coerce students to buy football tickets in order to buy basketball tickets! Quote
Hovadipo Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 This still sucks, but Tevin is an absolute monster. Quote
87ashtonhoosier Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 We'll be watching Tevin on Sunday next year.... And a sea of empty seat for next week's game! Quote
