I'm wondering if they'll move Hield now or actually keep him. He's valuable as a shooter but not at that price. Could be valuable to a team wanting a shooter.

Lakers wanted him last summer iirc

He seems like a guy that Carlisle could get a lottttt out of, but that contract is brutal. I think we’re far from done this week, but he might be a guy that sticks around until the draft/next deadline.

Ok the rebuild is dead, but we just got Tyrese mf Haliburton.

I’m floored.
Halliburton is really, really good. And all those open actions that Carlisle ran with Doncic that he had to mothball because Brogdon can’t run that stuff, Halliburton can. And he’s 21 with 3 more years of control. He fits dead in a retooling window. Hield’s a tradeable asset all the way through next season, but you can play him if you want to. And Thompson’s another 10 mil expiring deal.

Freakin’ love it.

I was dying for Fox a couple weeks ago and get this today instead. It's like wishing for a pony for Christmas and getting a Harley.

I’m telling ya, go back and watch Dallas last year. Plug Haliburton in for Doncic, Jackson in for Powell and Turner in for Porzingas, with Duarte being able to play with that much space, that’s a hell of a start for the next gen Pacers. You wanna get real nuts, picture Jabari Smith in that mix.

I really enjoyed watching the Mavs play last year. That's a pretty picture. The issue with this trade as it relates to the future is it might bring a jolt of energy into the team right now. Not that Domas was a negative in any way, but Woj has already tweeted that Myles is ecstatic about playing with Haliburton and we already know that Carlisle is licking his chops with his new toy. We're a good February and March away from that top-5 pick becoming a top-10-12 pick. With Portland setting up to rebuild around Lillard this summer, the Knicks allegedly wanting to move on from their decent vets, the Kings trading us their best player, and the Spurs hoping to bring in more young talent, we're on a slippery slope to an average pick in a top-heavy draft.

Or, maybe they convince Myles and Brogdon that they're more hurt than they are for another few weeks so we don't end up right back in purgatory.

Detorit and Orlando will definitely be worse than the Pacers. The Kings are clearly making a push for the playoffs with the Pelicans. And I think a Fox-Sabonis duo is about 1000x better than Brogdon-Sabonis because Brogdon is just awful. Portland will be a problem. Pacers still hovering around with the Thunder as well. But I don't see this team as a whole actually winning. Still no depth. But they should be more fun to watch with Turner actually getting to play with a legitimate point guard.

The problem is they don't have to win a whole lot more than they have been to screw themselves. About an 8 game difference between the 5th pick and the 14th.
