I don't pretend to understand the NBA and coaching decisions.  Troy had moved into a starting role for several games and didn't perform badly.  Then for a couple of games although he started, his minutes were limited; he went back to the bench and his minutes continued to diminish and last night he didn't even get into the game.   Were the Grizzlies trying to 'advertise' Troy in the hopes another team might be interested in a trade?

Could be wrong but I think the Grizz have some guys coming back from injury. Ennis, Parsons, and Conley were all due back at some point. Not sure if that's it or what.

What Westbrook is doing is the most amazing thing I have seen on the court at that level for many years. Every team is keying in on him and he does it every night.

And many of the games he gets his triples, he not just scoring 20 points.  In last night's game, OKC scored 117 total points.  Westbrook has 45 all by his lonesome plus another 11 assists for a minimum of an additional 22 points.  67 out of 117 ain't too bad.

What's the deal with Troy? Coach Fizdale has him listed as DNP "Coach's Decision" for a few games recently.

Post Christmas matchup hot take: The Warriors were better without Durant. Steph Curry just isn't the same this year, and they gave up too much to bring Durant in.

Another hot take. The NBA benefits from close and controversial games. Refs should be given the title of producer and not official.

Unfortunate for Troy, but he'll at least get more playing time than he was likely going to get with the Grizzlies.

Grizzlies assign Troy Williams to Iowa Energy

Posted: Dec 26, 2016

Memphis Grizzlies General Manager Chris Wallace today announced the team has assigned forward Troy Williams to the Iowa Energy, the Grizzlies’ NBA Development League affiliate.

Williams (6-7, 218) has appeared in 24 games (13 starts) for the Grizzlies during his rookie season and averaged 5.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.00 steals in 17.4 minutes. The 21-year-old, Hampton, Va. native went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft after his junior season at Indiana University and signed with Memphis as a free agent on Aug. 8, 2016. He currently leads all undrafted NBA rookies in steals per game.

Troy's debut in the D-League was very good.

Westbrook with yet another triple double his 15th of the year in 32 games played:  29 pts / 17 reb / 11 asst.
