Rex Chapman arrested..

Recommended Posts

Friday and accused of shoplifting more than $14,000 in Apple merchandise from a retail store in Scottsdale.

Apple Store employees told police that Chapman picked up items in the store and made it appear that he was paying for them using a self-checkout system via iPhone app. He would then leave the store without actually paying for the items, they said. Chapman allegedly took the items to a local pawn shop and sold them for cash.

Chapman is facing nine counts of organized retail theft and five counts of trafficking in stolen property, all felonies.

What an idiot.... you'd have to be out of your mind to think that would work at any store, but the APPLE STORE?! When everything is tracked via the internet? No chance in hell he could ever get away with that, even if he successfully sold them at the pawn shop. What a doofus. Hope he does some jail time

I worked in Chapman's hometown (Owensboro KY) when he committed to Kentucky after high school.  The joke around town was that he immediately got a brand new vehicle after committing!

I bet it was coincidence---his parents probably bought it for him!

Speaking of those mad hops---I saw King Rex---as they called him down here---play in high school and as you can imagine--he just dominated Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky.  I was hoping later when Luke Recker committed to IU we were getting a similar version ---but that did not pan out!

Recker was from my neck of the woods. I dated a cheerleader at his high school. He was a KING up here. Bigger than life. He actually was a great player though. Hated how that turned out.

Schoosier---I was in The Hall for that one too if that's the one where he and Alford went for about 26 each---and we won!

Yes---he had mad hops!

Without checking my recollection was 88 season after Alford graduated and they beat us. Remember Smart not playing well which was consistent for his big hopes that year. Long time ago lol.

If my memory is correct, it was my senior year at IU, in 1988 the KY game would have been either at Freedom Hall, Louisville or the Hoosier (RCA) dome, Indy. We played them in neutral site games back then. I went to several of those game in both Indy and Lville. Good times on those road trips!
