Favorite Part of IU BBall Gameday Experience

Recommended Posts

Climbing up all those steps could be a thrll! When I was a freshman during the 2007-2008 season, my friend, with whom I had season tickets, and I were seated in the last row of the balcony for the UConn game. We were there about an hour before tip off, and a man came up to us and asked if we wanted better seats. He took us down to the 2nd row across from the IU bench! I hope that one day I can do the same for a student in the nosebleeds. Those steps are killer!

all of you music aficionados will appreciate this...

how about the last song of the night...by the pep band... win or lose...

they play Sing Sing Sing... in the version of  Benny Goodwin a la 1920's extraordinaire..

I always stick around to listen to that after the game and to see who else appreciates it...

edit... link for those that leave games early...http://youtu.be/fhyhP_5VfKM

SIngX3 is one of my favorite things that we play! Unfortunately, we only play it if we win, though.

Here's a video of the Marching Hundred playing it for any interested parties. It's from a few years ago and the solo changes every year, but you get the idea! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCyxjlVlf7g

CrimsonMom---glad I'm not the only one to sneak into an IU Practice----my buddies and I went up to the balcony and found a door unlocked and watched a Knight practice---until we were spotted---let me tell you that Knight's voice carries very well in an empty Assembly Hall!  We liked to killed ourselves going down the balcony stairwell until we could find an exit.  Good times!

I saw those signs postec last year Coach Crean invited my famuly and I to a practice when we were in town. That was the time when Coach Knight's son was there with another man. They go really hard at practice too. I asked Troy after practice was that just a show or is that how yall practice for real. Troy was like "Mom, that was nothing, he took it easy on us. Its way more running, running plays, drills, and yelling." Troy says they practice like they are in a real game thats why he be so tired after practiCe. Then after practice Coach Crean had the whole team line up and one by one they shook each of my family member's hand and introduced themselves to us, but they each gave me a HUG!!! I felt so special. And my son, of course, Mr. I have to be different, patted me on my head and said, " It is a pleasure to meet you Ma'am. I love that crazy son of mine to death. I miss my #babyyoungman❤
