Will a lineup of guards with very little post presence get it done out if conference? We had a team that got it done in conference but failed come tourney time. If we finish top half if the B1G but make a run to an elite 8 will people be happier?

In my opinion, our weaker/unproven front court will be abused by the B1G, but if we can make it to the tournament, that weakness will become much less relevant. Teams with strong front courts that may not be used to keeping up with a fast paced, guard heavy team may burn out faster. I believe if we can make it to the tournament, there is the potential to make a strong run similar to UConn whose guards led the charge and big men played their roles. I could see the team struggling with the regular season, and thriving in the post season.

I would be. I've said before and I'll day again though, an Elite 8 run is the only way Crean well get any faith back from me.

I don't NEED national championships. I just want IU to be a perennial top 25 team with some top 10 teams mixed in. Never miss NCAA and be competitive in those games. The Syracuse loss didn't crush me like it did to others. I actually expected it, as it was a bad matchup.

Not too much to ask for INDIANA!

I completely agree. Regardless of our difference in opinion when it comes to the leash Crean has, an Elite 8, and even more so a Final Four, is what it will take for Crean to get the fan base to buy into him as a long term coaching option here.

I expected to lose to Syracuse after seeing how we looked against Temple.  I hoped it was just an off game, but we'd been fading since the game @MSU so I really expected the loss.

 

The rest doesn't seem like high expectations.  Compete in the top half of the B1G yearly and don't miss the NCAAs.

I would be very happy with those results, but I don't see us in the top half of the B1G. Hanner and Devin both need to have great years but as centers are woefully undersized. I do have faith in Devin but not Hanner. Teams will go at him from the tipoff and he is foul prone. With the physical gifts he has he good be as good as he wants. I really hope to see marked improvement from him but it looks like a lot of zone d we will have to play to protect him and our lack of size.
