Indianapolis Colts Off-Season Thread

There can't be another team in the NFL who is even close to us with penalties on punt returns

But…but…but…Griff Whalen averages X amount of yards on kick returns…

I'm perfectly fine with Whalen never trying to return punts. He isn't fast enough to take one to the house, and the longer he's running with it the better chance someone cheats and gets flagged.

On the other hand, the kickoff getting moved to the 35 has been a gift. In past years, we asked Vinatieri's old leg to kick from the 30 and since our coverage units have sucked for an eternity we constantly gave up gargantuan returns. The kickoff return essentially disappearing from the game has been a very, very good thing for the Colts.

Re: Wayne elbow injury.

Darn it!

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- The Indianapolis Colts will be without wide receiver Reggie Wayne against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

Wayne was initially listed as day-to-day with an elbow injury before being ruled out Friday by coach Chuck Pagano.

I could clearly see he injured his elbow on that stiff arm play. Appeared to be hyperextended. Hope there is no more damage than that....

Look at these next three games:

@ Pittsburgh

@ Giants

New England

Brutal.  I definitely didn't think we could go 3-0 in these before the season, but right now the Colts are top 5 in offense and defense.  Go Colts

So we barely spend any time this year in zone coverage. Entire first defensive drive we're in a zone every single play, get destroyed. Coincidence?

I thought that looked oddly familiar. Not sure whose idea it was, but it sucked.
