Today, in his "best game as a Colt", he dropped two easy catches.  Awesome.

Ok, so his running style doesn't lead to success behind this line as you claim.  Why keep him in then?  What is his style?  He's not fast, he can't break any tackles, he can't push people over....again I ask...as you can't seem to answer....what does he do well??

What makes you think he's a good player?

Andrew Luck outrushed him again today.  So did Bradshaw.  By a lot.  Richardson gets tackled by the first hit every time.  Not the sign of a good rb.

He also misses easy passes (so did Fleener...I know).  How does Luck and Bradshaw (and Brown last year) run effectively behind this offensive line, but Richardson does not?  He's not fast, can't outrun the defense.  He's not powerful, can't get past the first tackler.  He's not a good receiver, drops bunnies.  I ask you honestly....what does he do well??

Luck outrushed him again today? So, did you watch the game, or do you really hate Richardson that much? Trent had 57 yards on 14 carries, Luck had 15 yards on 3 carries. If you're talking averages how is that fair to Trent, when he ran the ball almost 5 times the amount Luck did. Also, Trent had 3 catches for 23 yards on 4 targets, Bradshaw had 2 catches for 18 yards on 3 targets. So I guess Bradshaw sucked in the receiving game today.

Yes I was talking averages.

I keep seeing excuses for Richardson, but what I don't see is a list of what he does well.  What does he do well??

Holy crap you finally read that their styles are different, but I'm not sure why you act like I have a say in who plays and who doesn't. If you want to know that you need to talk to Pagano or Pep. He needs to not be hit in the backfield and get the chance to run is what he really needs. If you've watch both Bradshaw and Trent you should know their styles.

Did you watch him run today? He did that pretty well as I pointed out with his 4.1 YPC. So I'd say he can do that pretty well. You act like he's never ran well in his entire life. If he wasn't a good player he wouldn't be in the NFL plain and simple.

You think Trent sucks, I think he's improving and not as bad as you claim and you still think he sucks. I think that pretty much sums it up. 5am comes early so I guess we can continue this amazing conversation tomorrow.

You misread what I said.  I agree, Brown was terrible until last year.  Last year he ran effectively (for the first time as a Colt) while Richardson did not.  What was the difference?

This year Bradshaw runs effectively while Richardson does not.

If we're giving Richardson the excuse of a poor line, why could Brown and Bradshaw run well behind it?

Richardson played badly last week.  Two fumbles is bad.  Terrible in fact.

He played poorly this week, dropping easy passes and rushing for a poor average.  What does he do well?  He's a bad player.

Isn't the league average something like 4 yards per carry for running backs? I know it was something like that last year. Richardson did that today, yet somehow that equates to "not running effectively"?

I've been as hard on Richardson as anybody, but he looked better today. I don't think he'll ever reach a point where we can honestly say it was worth it to trade a first rounder for him, but I still think he can be a serviceable running back.

Saying 3 rushes for 15 yards outperforms 14 rushes for 57 yards is moronic. Luck's runs are a result of plays breaking down after the defense has opened up more.

What does Trent do well?

He doesn't outrun anybody.

He doesn't run  through anybody.

What does Trent do well?

The guy ran for 4 yards per carry today. Which is at league average, you understand how that defeats the argument that he sucked today right? Like Dalton has pointed out a few times, neither one of us is arguing that he is doing anything special. But the hate that you and other Colts fans display for him, recently more so than not, doesn't seem completely warranted. The guy ran the ball well today, hit the hole he needed to and has been more decisive this season in doing so

So the absolute best we've seen out of Trent Richardson is a game where he was an average runner (compared to league rush/carry average) and dropped two easy passes.

Yuck.

We'll have to disagree here.

Go Colts, beat the Titans!

..... Locker isn't playing today. I think he sucks, but Charlie Whitehurst is way worse than him. So should be another pretty easy win

Why they aren't starting Mettenberger is a mystery. I thought he would be one of the better NFL QB's in this draft.

I thought pretty highly of him too. Don't know what it says about who he actually is as a player that he can't beat out Charlie freaking Whitehurst as the back up QB

I saw it reported in training camp that he looked like the best QB in the class. Maybe they don't want to throw him in the fire yet?

I guess. I am glad the Jags went ahead and threw Bortles into the fire to see if there was anything. I get not wanting to throw young guys out there with people who can't protect him, or with bad weapons. My thing is might as well see what you got, rather than building around a guy, then find out that you don't have anything at a later date
