Why aren't we recruiting guys from Indiana?

Recommended Posts

I wish we would sign kids from this state because playing for iu means so much more to them and they are more likely to play harder and with emotion!!!! And always please no more 1 and done players cause they don't play as hard either

If they don't wanna come here, then they don't. Not all kids from the state of Indiana are in love with the university. There are so many other opportunities for these kids, they could go anywhere.

I just fill like if it was me making the decision, I would choose iu because the talent we have had recently and the history of university and I'm from Indiana

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

You obviously haven't been through a college decision process. It isn't even close to that simple. You are an IU fan, so there's a little bit of bias there.

We landed Cody because of the hometown draw and love for IU, but with current high profile recruits, they may only have a year or two to win a championship. Programs like UK, Kansas and Michigan State all have been in better positions to do so in the last few years. Sent from my place of advanced, analytical thinking: the toilet.

Thank you!! It's r most important thing to do is recruiting indiana. We could recruit instate every year an compete with the best. An we still choose to spend to much time on the outside. An only thing I remember from creans first press Conference we need to hit the indiana kids hard an the kids tht knw what it means to wear the red an white candy stripe pants an those r indiana kids.

Recruiting Indiana and getting kids to come to Indiana from Indiana are two totally different things. We recruit this state more than any other state. We have more kids from this state on our roster than any other state. There is no school that recruits exclusively one state.

So sounds like what we need to do is be like Kentucky? Lol you can get off this forum cause you obviously aren't an iu fan

Your comment on "one and dones" not competing as hard, isn't necessarily true. I'm not sure there was a harder working guy this year than Julius Randle, that dude busted his ass every night. There are plenty more examples of one and done kids who compete and play just as hard as seniors.

Also, the moderators here are pretty on top of things, if someone doesn't appear to be an IU fan, and isn't willing to discuss intelligently they eliminate them from the board.

I don't care if a kid is one and done or a 4 year player. I don't care if he's an Indiana kid or from any of the other 49 states either. All I care about is whether the kid is willing to play for IU, not get into trouble, and bust his ass for his teammates and the University. That's all that should matter. This crap of he should be from Indiana and stay 4 years drives me nuts. Who cares? If he comes to IU and bleeds IUBB that's all that should matter.

True but I would much rather see 4 year players at iu just because the team chemistry seems to be better between kids that have the chance to play 4 years together i don't care bout the talent it's the "heart" that you have to recruit that's why Indiana kids would be better recruits for the university

IU is recruiting Indiana....

Jalen Coleman, Caleb Swanigan, Eron Gordon, Kyle Guy, Hyron Edwards

Too be honest, the next few classes in Indiana aren't as strong as the last few has been so if you want IU to recruit the best and recruit Indiana, you're pretty limited to the names above. You can't field an elite team with just players from Indiana right now.

We are recruiting Indiana, problem is, they aren't as interested in us as we need them to be. Our current program is strong in athletics and I am very proud of that, but let's face it, these kids want to see wins and stability before committing to a coach that may or may not be here their entire college career. .

Ya 1 of them which is great cause jbj is the real deal I watched him play just hope he has the heart for iu and you don't have to recruit all 5 star players you have to recruit the ones with heart and drive and the want to! Believe or not you can teach basketball but what you can not teach is HEART!!!

Bob knight didn't always recruit the best he recruit the want to!!! Look at Larry bird a freaking nba legend but he didn't want it bad enough so he left iu and didn't win a NCAA championship and who did win 2 years after this happened? Iu because the players had the want to, drive, compassion for the game, and thick skinned
